TikTok Shop quality check: 10 videos a day and what AI clips must pass
TikTok Shop's UK page says its quality check tool takes up to 10 videos a day and lists failure reasons. How to pre-screen an AI product clip first.

TikTok Shop's UK Shoppable Videos page describes a quality check tool that lets you check up to 10 videos per day before uploading. Its failure reasons are a useful checklist for AI product clips: original or rights-cleared content, no redirecting traffic off TikTok Shop, a creator on screen, visible movement, and accurate product claims.
The checklist from the page
These are the content requirements the page lists under quality check failures.
| Reason | What the page says |
|---|---|
| External traffic | No redirection outside TikTok Shop |
| Originality | Must be original content you filmed or have rights to use; avoid identical reposting |
| Creator on screen | The creator must appear in the video |
| Distinct from stitched material | Content must be distinct from stitched material |
| Static content | Avoid static content; include visible movement |
| Accuracy | Promotional content must accurately represent listed products |
What this means for an AI clip
Two items bite hardest for AI output. A still image animated with a slow zoom risks the static rule, and a product-only render may not satisfy the creator-on-screen reason. The page does not say whether a synthetic presenter counts as the creator, so run the check instead of assuming.
The page also says a video may see reduced visibility in its first 7 days if it does not comply with TikTok's e-commerce policies. For AI content, the Shop AI rules add that disclosure is expected when content is fully generated or significantly edited (read 2026-10-02).
A cheap pre-screen with Sume
Before spending one of your 10 checks, review the clip yourself. Sume's video inspect returns probe facts and sampled stills for a clip you already hold on media.sume.com, and the docs state probe and stills are unbilled. Video frames pulls exact stills at times you name.
- Pull stills at the start, middle and end and compare the product against the listing: color, size, parts.
- Check that something moves across the stills.
- Check that the on-screen text and claims match the product page.
Using your 10 checks well
Ten checks a day is enough for a careful batch but not for blind trial and error. Review stills yourself, fix obvious problems, then submit the two or three finalists. If a clip fails, change one thing at a time, such as adding motion or showing the product being used, so you learn which reason triggered the failure.
What Sume does not do
Sume does not call TikTok's quality check tool, and a pass in Sume means nothing to TikTok. The tool lives in Seller Center, and its verdict is the one that counts.
