Can you use AI-generated videos on TikTok Shop?

Yes. TikTok Shop's Seller Center policy dated 09/02/2026 says AI-generated content is allowed on the platform if it follows the policies and community guidelines. The catch is accuracy: the video must not use AI to alter a product's size, color, material, quantity, features or performance.

What can AI do in a TikTok Shop video?

The page lists permitted uses as non-exhaustive, and adds a prerequisite: all AI-related content must be truthful, accurate and not misleading.

Do I have to label an AI product video?

TikTok says creators are required to disclose content that is entirely AI-generated or significantly edited with AI. It names two ways to do it:

• In the content: on-screen text, a watermark, a sticker, or a note in the video description.
• With the posting tool: turn on the "AI-generated content" toggle on the post settings page. A label reading "Disclosed by creator as AI-generated" then appears in the bottom-left corner.
• Content made with official TikTok AI effects is labeled automatically. If you use third-party AI tools, you must still follow the disclosure rules.

How do I keep an AI clip true to the product?

Sume's video API takes input_references for reference-to-video, and its docs say the model uses them as visual guidance rather than exact frames. frame_images with frame_type first_frame or last_frame starts image-to-video from your image. Neither guarantees the product's real size, color or details in every frame, so compare the finished clip with your product page before posting.

TikTok's own checklist asks the same: the product shown matches what buyers receive, and size, color, material, quantity and included accessories match the product description page.

What happens if a video breaks the rules?

TikTok says it may restrict content distribution or visibility, remove product links or shopping cart functionality, and deduct Creator Health Rating points. Accounts can face warnings, restrictions or bans depending on severity.

Two more limits from the page: using a filter or effect alone does not make content AI-generated, and an AI label the platform applies cannot be reversed. Labeling content as AI-generated when no AI was used is itself a violation.
