TikTok's auction in-feed ad page recommends vertical 9:16 video with a minimum of 540x960, and also allows 16:9 (960x540) and 1:1 (640x640). Files can be .mp4, .mov, .mpeg, .3gp or .avi, up to 500 MB and up to 10 minutes, with bitrate of at least 516 kbps.

Below is how those numbers map to Sume's aspect_ratio, duration and Timeline output. Read 2026-09-29.

What does TikTok list for non-Spark in-feed video?

The page separates Spark Ads (existing organic posts) from non-Spark ads (uploaded creative). The table is the non-Spark set.

How do I generate the right shape?

All three ratios map to Sume aspect_ratio values: 9:16, 16:9 and 1:1 are on the list for seedance-2.5, wan-3.0, kling-3 and minimax-h3. Pick resolution 720p or 1080p so the frame clears 540x960.

The docs list duration 4 to 30 seconds for seedance-2.5, and TikTok's page allows up to 10 minutes.

curl -X POST https://api.sume.com/v1/videos \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $SUME_API_KEY" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -H "Idempotency-Key: tiktok-ad-001" \
  -d '{
    "model": "seedance-2.5",
    "prompt": "A barista pours latte art, close-up, slow push-in",
    "duration": 15,
    "resolution": "720p",
    "aspect_ratio": "9:16"
  }'

How do I make a longer ad or hit the bitrate?

Stitch clips with Timeline 1.0 (output 1080x1920, fps 30) to reach the length you want; files come out as MP4. Sume does not list bitrate controls, so a short 1080p clip will normally sit well within TikTok's 500 MB limit, but verify the 516 kbps floor with POST /v1/video-inspect.

What are the limits of this answer?

TikTok's page covers ad specs, not organic uploads. Other in-feed variants (reservation, app bundle, travel) have different durations; see the linked posts.
