Does TikTok Shop allow slideshow videos? Not on their own
TikTok Shop's Seller Center page dated 09/17/2026 bars still, looping or scrolling images through a whole posted video. What that means for AI video.

No, not a slideshow on its own. TikTok Shop's Seller Center page, dated 09/17/2026, says that when you post a video, you must not use still, looping, or scrolling images through the entire video without featuring your face and the physical product.
The TikTok rules below are quoted from TikTok Shop's "Requirements for High-Quality Videos and LIVEs", read 2026-09-29. The Sume facts come from the Timeline 1.0 and Video Router docs.
What does TikTok Shop's page say about still-frame content?
The page calls this still frame content: content that lacks on-screen activity or features a static image with minimal verbal interaction or movement. It says content that relies primarily on still images or static visuals is not permitted when promoting products on TikTok Shop.
The page applies to sellers and creators, is marked Applies to: United States, and says violations may lead to enforcement actions that affect account health.
| Item | What the page lists |
|---|---|
| Still frame content examples | Still images, screenshots, scrolling image, screen recordings, slideshows, animated content |
| Posted video: prohibited | Still, looping, or scrolling images through the entire video without featuring your face and the physical product |
| Posted video: asked for | Content recorded in a real-world environment, some camera movement, and people; visuals that feature your face and the physical product |
| Dynamic content | At least 3 seconds of dynamic content without any still images or looping visuals |
Is a Sume Timeline of images a slideshow?
Yes, in TikTok's terms. A Timeline 1.0 slot can hold a clip or a still, and the Timeline docs say stills are static holds: a motion field on a still is accepted and ignored. A render made only of stills has no on-screen movement, which is what the TikTok page lists as a slideshow.
Timeline joins clips and stills into one MP4. It does not decide whether TikTok will accept the result.
Does an AI video clip fix that?
A generated clip has motion, so it is not a still. But TikTok's page also asks for content recorded in a real-world environment that features your face and the physical product, and Sume cannot tell you whether TikTok will treat a generated clip that way. Read the page for what TikTok asks of a posted video.
If you do generate a clip, the Video Router accepts aspect_ratio 9:16 and a duration. seedance-2.5 accepts 4–30 seconds at 480p, 720p or 1080p:
curl -X POST https://api.sume.com/v1/video-router/generate \
-H "Authorization: Bearer $SUME_API_KEY" \
-H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-H "Idempotency-Key: shop-clip-001" \
-d '{
"model": "seedance-2.5",
"prompt": "A hand turns a ceramic mug on a desk, slow camera move",
"resolution": "720p",
"duration": 12,
"aspect_ratio": "9:16",
"mode": "async"
}'What are the limits of this answer?
The TikTok page is the US Seller Center version, and it also sets rules for LIVEs, which this post does not cover. Other regions publish their own pages. For TikTok's general AI label rules, see Does TikTok allow AI-generated content?
