Will my AI Reel show on Instagram for TV? 13+ ratings, shared screens

Instagram says TV Reels are for shared viewing and follow 13+ ratings. What that means for AI Reels, what the page leaves out, and a frame check before posting.

Instagram's TV announcement does not mention AI Reels at all, so the answer is: an AI Reel is judged like any other Reel, against rules written for shared viewing. The page says content on TV is designed to be appropriate for broad audiences and that Reels follow the 13+ content ratings.

That is from Instagram's own announcement, which also says teen accounts keep the same safeguards as in the mobile app (Instagram, read 2026-10-07). Whether a specific Reel is surfaced in a TV channel is decided by Instagram, and the page does not publish how.

A pre-post check for generated Reels

A generated clip can contain something you did not ask for in a frame you did not look at. Before you post, sample the clip. Video inspect returns 8 mid-bin stills by default, or up to 24 stills at times you name with frames.at. Look at all of them, not just the poster frame.

If one frame is wrong, regenerate only that shot. The Video Router takes seedance-2.5 for 4 to 30 seconds and gemini-omni-flash-1.1 for 3 to 10 seconds, so a bad 6-second shot is a short, cheap re-run. Then rebuild the Reel with a timeline join.

What to prepare

  • Read your platform label rules separately. The disclosure posts linked below cover the AI labels; this page covers only what Instagram says about TV.
  • Keep prompts free of anything you would not show a family. It is a house rule, not a platform guarantee.
  • Keep the job ids of the shots. If a frame is questioned, you can show which job made it.

What to log

Keep a short note per Reel: the prompt, the model, the job id and who checked the frames. If a Reel is later questioned, the note answers in a minute what memory cannot.
