Will TikTok remove my AI avatar brand account as fake?

TikTok removed 86 million fake accounts in Q1 2026 and bans impersonation. A labeled, invented avatar account is a different case, but TikTok makes no promise.

TikTok's pages do not say it removes accounts for using an AI avatar. They say it removed 86 million fake accounts in the first quarter of 2026, that it is testing better detection of accounts dedicated to AI-generated spam, and that AI personas which impersonate real people are prohibited. A brand account with an invented avatar that discloses its AI use is outside all three, but TikTok does not promise that outcome.

That reading is based on TikTok's 10 July 2026 newsroom post and the Shop AI pages, not on any statement about avatars by name.

Three different things TikTok describes

Fake accounts, AI-generated spam accounts, and impersonation are separate. A fake account pretends to be a person it is not. A spam account posts AI-made filler at volume on sensitive topics. Impersonation copies a real person.

The UK Shop page says not to use AI avatars, voices, or personas that impersonate celebrities, public or political figures, medical professionals, or official authorities. The US page bars fake doctors and experts and unauthorized likeness.

Build an avatar that is clearly yours

With Sume, Create new avatar makes a reusable avatar from a prompt, a structured profile, or a reference image, and gives you a stable handle. Generate avatar video then makes the talking video in 9:16 at 720p, for scripts that estimate to 4-60 seconds.

Make the avatar from a prompt or profile, or from a photo of a person who agreed to it. Do not prompt for a lookalike of anyone famous.

Habits that keep the account legible

  • Say in the bio that the presenter is an AI avatar.
  • Switch on the AI-generated content toggle for each post.
  • Stay out of the three sensitive topics in TikTok's spam test, or add real sources and a human reviewer.
  • Post under a business name, with real products, prices, and a way to reach you.
  • Keep a ledger of job ids and post dates so you can show how each video was made.

What to do if an account is limited

TikTok's pages do not list an appeal process for avatar accounts, so use the normal in-app route for the notice you receive. Have your ledger ready: avatar creation date, the job ids for recent videos, and proof the label toggle was on. A calm, specific appeal with records is better than a general complaint.

Do not build a second account to work around a limit. Account evasion is the sort of behavior fake-account detection looks for.
