TikTok ad disclaimers: 90 characters, 3 links, and the AI type
TikTok Ads Manager has three disclaimer types: 90-character text, up to 3 clickable links, and an AI-generated label. What each does and what Sume does not set.

TikTok Ads Manager offers three ad disclaimer types: a standard text disclaimer of up to 90 characters, a clickable disclaimer with up to three links, and an AI-generated content disclaimer. The AI-generated one is the mandatory type for AI-generated, synthetic or manipulated media, per TikTok's ad disclaimers help page.
The three types
Quoting the page's own limits.
| Type | What the page says |
|---|---|
| Standard | Text-only, maximum of 90 characters |
| Clickable | Maximum of three clickable links to externally hosted pages, with a maximum of 40 characters between the three link titles |
| AI-generated content | Adds a textual disclosure label saying the ad includes AI-generated content |
When the AI type is required
The page lists as mandatory: AI-generated, synthetic or manipulated media, including images, video or audio that are completely AI-generated or real source material significantly modified by AI. It says the disclaimer appears at the bottom of the in-feed video for the duration of the ad. The related misleading-content policy says undisclosed substantially modified AI content faces rejection, and treats lighting, brightness or color adjustments as minor edits needing no label (both read 2026-10-02).
The page also says you can run ads with disclaimers as Spark Ads or non-Spark Ads, and that you might not see the feature if it is not available to you. The only tracking it mentions is the Pixel on a clickable disclaimer's pages.
Using this with Sume output
If a Sume-generated clip is fully AI-generated, the page's wording points to the AI-generated disclaimer. The walkthrough is in how to label a TikTok ad as AI-generated, and the boundary is in what counts as significantly edited.
- Write the standard disclaimer text to 90 characters or fewer before you open Ads Manager.
- Keep clickable titles short enough to fit 40 characters in total across three links.
- Record in your brief which ads used AI footage so the toggle is not forgotten.
Drafting the copy
Ninety characters is short. Write the standard disclaimer as one plain sentence, then count it. For clickable disclaimers, decide the three destinations first, such as terms, privacy and pricing, and give each a title of about a dozen characters so all three fit inside the 40-character total the page states. Keep these decisions in your campaign brief so the AI-generated toggle is part of the same checklist.
What Sume does not do
Sume's Video Router returns a video job. It does not set a TikTok disclaimer, upload to Ads Manager or decide whether a clip counts as significantly modified. That judgment, and the toggle, are yours.
