Sume avatar product surcharge: 1, 1.3 or 3 cents a second by tier

A product on a Sume avatar clip adds 1 cent a second on Standard, 1.3 cents on Plus and 3 cents on Max. On 60 seconds: $0.60, $0.78 or $1.80.

The product surcharge on Sume avatar video is $0.194 - $0.184 = $0.010 per second on Standard, $0.258 - $0.245 = $0.013 on Plus and $0.58 - $0.55 = $0.030 on Max. Over 60 seconds, that is $0.60, $0.78 and $1.80.

As a share of the base price

As a share of the base rate, the product line adds 5.4% on Standard, 5.3% on Plus and 5.5% on Max, so the choice of tier matters more than the choice of product.

When to pay it

The surcharge is for clips where a product image is part of the request. If your clip is a talking head with no product shown, use the lower rate. The avatar video docs explain the product input.

Worked example and checks

Compare that to the cost of retaking. A retake of a 60-second Standard clip costs $11.04 without a product, so a $0.60 product surcharge is small next to a failed take. If a product image makes a good first take more likely, it pays for itself, but the rate card cannot tell you that; test it.

Across a month of 30 daily 30-second clips with a product, the surcharge on Standard is 900 x $0.010 = $9.00, on Plus $11.70 and on Max $27.00.

What the card does not say

The rate card lists the numbers but not how the product is placed or whether the result will look right. Preview a clip first. Sume bills model and tool usage at the published rate on top of the plan fee, so the plan price is separate from every number in this post.
