An AI spokesperson video on Sume costs $0.184 per second on the standard tier, $0.245 on plus (the default) and $0.55 on max. If you pass a product_image, the per-second rate rises to $0.194, $0.258 and $0.58. These are list prices from Sume's catalog rate card (GET /v1/catalog), confirmed in the repo's catalog file read 2026-10-03. Confirm the live numbers in the catalog before you budget.

Rates by tier

Quality is set per request with quality, and omitting it gives plus. See Generate avatar video for the request shape.

Sume Avatar 1.0 talking-video rates, per second (read 2026-10-03).
TierNo product imageWith product image4-second estimate (no product)

max$0.55$0.58$2.20

What the 4-second figure means

The catalog's estimate is the tier rate times 4 billable seconds, the shortest chunk-planned clip. Sume accepts videos whose estimated duration is 4-60 seconds, so a real 20-second ad is not the same as five 4-second estimates. Billable seconds come from the planned chunks, so quote a longer ad only after the job's own estimate comes back.

Picking a tier for testing

Use standard while you are comparing hooks and scripts, then re-render the winner on a higher tier. Avatar video previews let you approve first-frame stills before a full render, and a quality override applies when you generate the video.
