Runway Aleph 2.0 at 140 credits per 5 seconds vs Gen-4.5 at 60
Runway lists Aleph 2.0 at 140 credits per 5 seconds and Gen-4.5 at 60: $1.40 to $3.36 against $0.60 to $1.44 a clip by plan. Aleph costs 2.3 times more.

Runway lists Aleph 2.0 at 140 credits for 5 seconds and Gen-4.5 at 60. At Runway's plan prices, a 5-second Aleph 2.0 clip costs $3.36 on monthly Standard, $2.18 on Pro and $1.40 on Max, while a Gen-4.5 clip costs $1.44, $0.93 and $0.60. Aleph is 2.33 times the price of Gen-4.5 on every plan, so choose it when you need what it does, not as a default.
The dollar figures are derived by dividing each plan's fee by its credit pool; Runway's page shows credits, not dollars per clip.
What does each clip cost on each plan?
Runway's pricing page lists Standard at $15 a month ($12 annual) for 625 credits, Pro at $35 ($28) for 2,250 and Max at $95 ($76) for 9,500. Per-credit prices work out at $0.0240, $0.0156 and $0.0100 monthly, and $0.0192, $0.0124 and $0.0080 annually.
| Plan | Aleph 2.0, monthly | Aleph 2.0, annual | Gen-4.5, monthly | Gen-4.5, annual |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Standard | $3.36 | $2.69 | $1.44 | $1.15 |
| Pro | $2.18 | $1.74 | $0.93 | $0.75 |
| Max | $1.40 | $1.12 | $0.60 | $0.48 |
How many clips does a month buy?
At 140 credits a clip, Standard's 625 credits make 4 Aleph clips, Pro's 2,250 make 16 and Max's 9,500 make 67. At 60 credits, the same pools make 10, 37 and 158 Gen-4.5 clips. A Standard plan, then, is a trial size for Aleph rather than a working budget.
How does this compare with pay-per-second pricing?
Sume does not list an Aleph model, so there is no like-for-like row. For scale, a 5-second Seedance 2.5 clip at 720p on Sume is about $2.89, and a 5-second Wan 3.0 clip at 720p is $0.625, both from Sume's Video Router rates. Those are generation prices, not edit prices, so use them only to see where Aleph sits among video costs.
The Video Router docs state that Sume bills provider list times 1.25 on every model, which is the number to apply to any model you add to a comparison.
- Aleph 2.0 on Pro: $2.18 for 5 seconds.
- Seedance 2.5 720p on Sume: about $2.89 for 5 seconds.
- Wan 3.0 720p on Sume: $0.625 for 5 seconds.
