Runway's plan page and its API guide put two different prices on the same credit. Standard costs $15 a month ($12 on annual billing) for 625 credits, which is $0.024 or $0.0192 a credit, and Max costs $95 ($76 annual) for 9,500, which is $0.01 or $0.008. The API guide prices a credit at $0.01. Read 2026-10-03.

At Gen-4.5's 12 credits per second, that turns a second of video into $0.288 on Standard monthly and $0.096 on Max annual, with $0.12 through the API.

Price per credit by plan

Runway lists a regular monthly price and a lower price with annual billing. The credit grant is per month. Standard shows 625, Pro 2,250, Max 9,500. Dividing price by credits gives the unit price.

Standard's own equivalency matches the arithmetic: 625 / 12 is 52.1 seconds, and the page says 52 seconds of Gen-4.5. Pro's 2,250 / 12 is 187.5, and the page says 187.

What a second of Gen-4.5 costs

The API guide lists gen4.5 at 12 credits per second at 720p. The plan page converts credits to seconds for Standard and Pro only, so the Max figure below is my arithmetic, not a number from the page.

Gen-4.5 at 12 credits per second, by plan (read 2026-10-03)
PlanSeconds per month (computed)Dollars per second, monthly priceDollars per second, annual price
Standard52.1 s$0.288$0.230
Pro187.5 s$0.187$0.149
Max791.7 s$0.120$0.096

The API is cheaper than the two smaller plans

At $0.01 a credit through the API, a Gen-4.5 second is $0.12. That is lower than Standard and Pro on either billing cycle, and equal to Max billed monthly. The plans buy the editor, parallel generations and storage (Standard lists 5 parallel generations, Pro 15, Max 20); the API buys the credit alone.

Sume's Video Router lists Wan 3.0 at $0.05, $0.10 and $0.20 per second, and Runway's guide lists wan3 at 5, 10 and 20 credits, which is the same dollar amounts at $0.01 a credit. Sume then bills list times 1.25, so Wan 3.0 at 720p is $0.125 a second on Sume, $0.10 through Runway's API, and $0.24 inside a Runway Standard plan at the monthly price.

Limits

If you generate a few seconds a month, the unit price barely matters. If you generate hundreds, it is the main line item.

  • The plan page lists a free plan with 125 one-time credits and no ongoing allowance.
  • The 12 credits per second figure is the guide's Gen-4.5 rate at 720p; other models and resolutions differ.
  • Only Max mentions credit rollover on the page I read.
