FLUX.2 Flex: from $0.05 at BFL, $0.0625 on Sume, 24 type posters
BFL lists FLUX.2 Flex from $0.05 for typography work. Sume lists flux-2-flex at $0.0625 per image, so 24 posters cost $1.50. What the 'from' price leaves out.

The short answer
Black Forest Labs lists FLUX.2 [flex] from $0.05 for text-to-image and for editing, and describes it as "Fine-grained control, typography" (read 2026-10-09). Sume lists flux-2-flex at $0.0625 per image at default options. For 24 type-led posters that is 24 x $0.0625 = $1.50 on Sume, against a starting 24 x $0.05 = $1.20 at BFL's "from" price.
Reading 'from'
BFL says FLUX.2 pricing varies by output resolution and points to its calculator for exact costs. So $0.05 is a starting rate, not a flat one. Sume's $0.0625 is a default-option price per image. Do not assume the two track each other at every size, and ask the API for a quote at the size you will use.
| Source | Price per image | 24 posters | Note |
|---|---|---|---|
| BFL FLUX.2 [flex], from | $0.05 | $1.20 | Starting rate; varies by output resolution |
| Sume flux-2-flex, default options | $0.0625 | $1.50 | Billed to your Sume wallet |
| Sume flux-2-pro, default options | $0.0375 | $0.90 | BFL lists [pro] from $0.03 |
Why pick Flex for type
BFL's own description is the reason to try Flex when letters matter. This post does not rank text quality against other models. A fair test is to render the same 24 headlines on flux-2-flex ($1.50) and flux-2-pro ($0.90) and count the misspelled words. If Pro gets the same number right, the $0.60 difference is yours to keep.
Sume's FLUX.2 rows share a 13-ratio list with the Qwen and Recraft rows, including 4:5 and 21:9, so a poster at 2:3 or 4:5 does not need a crop.
Running the 24-poster test
Write the 24 headlines first, with a mix of short and long lines, numbers, and one line that has an apostrophe. Send each to both models with the same layout prompt. Count a poster as a pass only if every word is spelled right. With 24 headlines on each model, a result of 22 passes against 20 passes tells you more than a look at one image.
The full test costs $1.50 + $0.90 = $2.40 on Sume. Keep the winning prompt as a template and change only the headline text for later batches.
Why the 'from' price needs care
A 'from' price is the lowest price on a row, usually for the smallest size. It is a floor, not a quote, and it may not apply to the size of your poster. The Sume price of $0.0625 is a fixed figure per image, so it is the one to put in a budget.
For typography work, the test is spelling. Count the words in each headline, and for each poster compare the output text to the input letter by letter.
BFL also sells FLUX.3 Image. Sume's catalog does not list FLUX.3, so Flex and Pro are the FLUX options on Sume today. Read the catalog before you plan around a model name, since the list changes.
The 24 posters at $0.0625 cost 24 x 0.0625 = $1.50; the same set at the 'from' price of $0.05 would be $1.20, a gap of $0.30. The point is not the 30 cents, but that the 'from' figure is a floor that you should not put in a budget.
