FLUX.2 tiers: cost per 1,000 images at 1 megapixel, klein to max
At one megapixel, BFL's FLUX.2 list prices work out to $15 for klein 4B, $17 for klein 9B, $30 for pro, $60 for flex and $70 for max per 1,000 images.
At one megapixel, Black Forest Labs' FLUX.2 list prices come to about $15 per 1,000 images for klein 4B, $17 for klein 9B, $30 for pro, $60 for flex and $70 for max. Pro and max are 'from' prices, so a larger or edited image can cost more.
These are Black Forest Labs' own numbers; what Sume charges is shown on the model's cost_usd pricing line, not here.
Per 1,000 at 1 MP (read 2026-10-04)
The klein tiers have a base plus a per-megapixel part, so at 1 MP the base and one MP are added. The page does not say how it rounds fractional megapixels, so stay on whole-MP sizes when you budget.
| Tier | Listed price | Per image at 1 MP | Per 1,000 at 1 MP |
|---|---|---|---|
| FLUX.2 klein 4B | $0.014 + $0.001/MP | $0.015 | $15 |
| FLUX.2 klein 9B | $0.015 + $0.002/MP | $0.017 | $17 |
| FLUX.2 pro | from $0.03/MP | $0.030 | $30 |
| FLUX.2 flex | $0.06/MP | $0.060 | $60 |
| FLUX.2 max | from $0.07/MP | $0.070 | $70 |
What Sume exposes
Sume's model docs show black-forest-labs/flux.2-pro in a request example. The live catalog is the source for which tiers are offered, so ask for it instead of assuming:
import os
import requests
response = requests.get(
"https://api.sume.com/v1/images/models",
headers={"Authorization": f"Bearer {os.environ['SUME_API_KEY']}"},
timeout=30,
)
response.raise_for_status()
print(response.json())Budgeting
Multiply the table by your real sizes in megapixels. A 2 MP flex image is $0.12, and 1,000 of them are $120. Check the budget against the cost_usd figure of your actual request before running a big batch.
# (base, per megapixel) from the BFL page; pro and max are "from" prices
tiers = {"klein-4b": (0.014, 0.001), "klein-9b": (0.015, 0.002), "pro": (0, 0.03), "flex": (0, 0.06), "max": (0, 0.07)}
megapixels = 2
for name, (base, per_mp) in tiers.items():
print(name, round((base + per_mp * megapixels) * 1000, 2))Reading a 'from' price
BFL's page lists pro and max as 'from' prices, so treat the pro and max figures above as the floor at 1 MP. Verify them against a real request's cost before committing a large batch.
