FLUX.2 pro price: $0.03 first megapixel, input counts too
fal lists FLUX.2 pro at $0.03 for the first output megapixel plus $0.015 per extra, with input megapixels counted. How to check what a Sume call costs.
On fal, FLUX.2 pro is priced by megapixel: $0.03 for the first megapixel of output, plus $0.015 per extra megapixel of input and output combined, rounded up. fal's own examples are a 1024x1024 image at $0.03 and a 1920x1080 image at $0.045. On Sume, you do not compute that yourself: black-forest-labs/flux.2-pro has an endpoints record whose pricing line is the amount charged to your wallet.
The fal numbers come from fal's FLUX.2 pro page, read 2026-10-03. The Sume behaviour comes from the Image API docs.
What counts toward the megapixels
fal's wording matters for edits: the extra $0.015 applies to input and output megapixels together, so a request that sends reference images costs more than the same text-only prompt at the same output size. The page does not give a reference-count example, so work out your own case from the rule, not from a guess.
| Output size | Price on fal | Rule |
|---|---|---|
| 1024x1024 | $0.03 | First megapixel |
| 1920x1080 | $0.045 | First megapixel plus $0.015 per extra, rounded up |
Reading the Sume price
The docs describe the per-endpoint pricing lines as the amount charged to your wallet, with Sume's margin already applied, so cost_usd times n is what you pay. This script prints those lines for FLUX.2 pro.
import os
import requests
key = os.environ["SUME_API_KEY"]
url = "https://api.sume.com/v1/images/models/black-forest-labs/flux.2-pro/endpoints"
resp = requests.get(url, headers={"Authorization": f"Bearer {key}"}, timeout=30)
resp.raise_for_status()
body = resp.json()
body = body.get("data", body)
for endpoint in body["endpoints"]:
for line in endpoint["pricing"]:
print(endpoint["provider_slug"], line["billable"], line["unit"], line["cost_usd"])
What this post cannot tell you
The docs show a single output_image line per image in their catalog examples. They do not say whether a larger output or a reference changes that line for a given model. To find out for your sizes, run one real call and read usage.cost in the response, then compare it with the endpoints record. Do not assume Sume's price tracks fal's megapixel steps.
