A 30-second 16:9 book trailer is one Seedance 2.5 job on Sume: $17.34 at 720p, $8.07 at 480p and $42.65 at 1080p. The 30-second ceiling is the point of the model: Seedance 2.0 and its siblings stop at 15 seconds, so a 30-second trailer on those means two jobs and a join.

Seedance 2.5 was reported on July 31 as the first of the family to produce about 30 seconds in one pass (Magic Hour tracker, secondary source, read 2026-10-07). Sume's own limit comes from its catalog: 4 to 30 seconds.

Using the cover

Send the cover as an input_references image so the palette and typography feel carry over, and put the story in the prompt as a few beats. Do not ask the model to reproduce the title: letters on a generated cover drift. Add the title card in a timeline or as a caption pass.

Proof first

Run the 480p proof first: it costs about 47% of the 720p price. There is no seed, so the 720p take is a new draw rather than a sharper copy of the proof; use the proof to fix the prompt and the references, and the final to get the best take. A trailer for a book with real photos of the author needs the author's rights and may be refused by the model.
