Caption a 55-second ad in five languages: five jobs at $0.20 is $1.00

Sume captions cost $0.20 per job for video of 60 seconds or less, so one 55-second ad in five languages is five jobs and $1.00. Sume does not translate.

A 55-second ad captioned in five languages is five caption jobs at $0.20 each, $1.00 total, because the price is per job for videos of 60 seconds or less. Each language needs its own video or script; Sume's caption endpoint burns the text it is given and does not translate it.

What the docs say

The video captions page lists $0.20 per job up to 60 seconds, ten built-in styles (slam, punch, tiktok-green, korean-ad, black-outline, weight-shift, highlight, pill-karaoke, clip-wipe, editorial-emphasis), a script_text option and a language hint. A silent video fails with caption_no_speech.

1212$2.40

Workflow that keeps cost flat

Voice the ad in each language first (each is its own TTS job; see our related post on rounding), put each voiceover on the video, then caption each version. Reuse one style across languages so the set looks consistent, and pass your approved translation as script_text rather than relying on the transcript when wording is legal-reviewed.

Use a distinct idempotency key per language so a retry does not double-bill.

Limits

Over 60 seconds the one-job price does not apply, so cut the ad first or see the docs for the longer-video path. Sume does not check the translation. A native reviewer should read each caption file before launch.
