To announce a Beaujolais Nouveau tasting from a wine shop, take one photo of your shelf or tasting table, send it to Gemini Omni Flash 1.1 as an image-to-video request for 8 seconds at 1080p ($1.50 on Sume), and burn the date and the age notice on top with one caption job using cues ($0.20). That is $1.70 for a vertical clip with its own ambient sound, ready for the days before Thursday, November 19, 2026.

According to Le Petit Musee du Vin (read 2026-10-11), Beaujolais Nouveau is released on the third Thursday of November, which is November 19 in 2026. The shop calendar is short: a Monday or Tuesday post gives people time to book or to ask whether you have stock.

Why Omni Flash for this clip?

Sume's Video Router docs (read 2026-10-11) list gemini-omni-flash-1.1 at 3 to 10 seconds, 360p to 4K, in 16:9 or 9:16, and say native synced audio is always on: the API rejects generate_audio: false. For a tasting clip that is useful, because a pour, a cork or a room tone makes the post feel real without a music job. It is also a limit. If you want a silent clip, pick another model.

It accepts image_url, so your own photo is the first frame and the bottles on screen are your bottles. Prompt for a slow push-in and soft light, and keep people out of the frame if you cannot control how faces render.

How do I put the date and the age notice on the clip?

The captions docs (read 2026-10-11) say that authored overlay text goes in cues, each with text, start and end, and that Sume does not run speech-to-text on that path. That matters here, because ambient sound has no speech, and a speech-based caption job on it would fail with caption_no_speech.

Three cues fit eight seconds:

  • 0 to 2.5 s: The new Beaujolais Nouveau is here.
  • 2.5 to 5.5 s: Thursday, Nov 19. Tasting at the counter from 5 pm.
  • 5.5 to 8 s: Must be 21 or older. Please drink responsibly.
  • Replace the time with your real one, and check the alcohol advertising rules of each platform before you boost the post.

What does each length and resolution cost?

Sume bills Omni Flash by output second at the provider list times the house 1.25 margin: $0.0375 a second at 360p, $0.125 at 720p, $0.1875 at 1080p and $0.375 at 4K. The caption job is $0.20 for a video up to 60 seconds. GET /v1/video-router/models and GET /v1/catalog show the live numbers.

Should I make a second version for the day itself?

Yes, and keep it cheap. On Thursday the question changes from "is it coming" to "is it here", so reuse the same photo, shorten the clip to 5 seconds at 720p, and change cue one to "It is here today." The new clip costs $0.825. The first clip is not touched, so you can keep both for the week. If you want a different caption look on the same video, the stored guide on restyling with source_caption_id shows how to avoid a second transcription.
