The PremiumHeroVideoModule needs a video of at least 960 by 540 pixels and a preview image of at least 1464 by 600. A 16:9 clip covers the video; the preview is a wider, 2.44:1 shape, so generate it as its own image instead of expecting a frame grab to fit.

Amazon's numbers are from its A+ Premium modules page; Sume facts are from video generation, image generation and video frames, read 2026-10-01.

What does the hero video module require?

Amazon describes a full-width video with an optional headline (max 80 characters) and a footer of up to 4 lines, 300 characters combined. The video and its preview have separate minimums.

PremiumHeroVideoModule minimums from Amazon's A+ Premium modules page, read 2026-10-01.

How do I make the video on Sume?

960 by 540 is 16:9, and the models endpoint lists 16:9 in supported_aspect_ratios for models such as seedance-2. seedance-2.5 accepts 4 to 30 seconds at 480p, 720p or 1080p. The docs here do not give pixel dimensions per tier, so probe the delivered file with video inspect and confirm it is at least 960 by 540 before you upload.

Why not take the preview from the clip?

Video frames returns durable media.sume.com image artifacts at the source frame size, or with a long-edge clamp from max_edge (16 to 2160). The docs describe no crop, so a 16:9 frame will not become 1464 by 600. Generate the preview as an image, with a size such as 1472x608; the sizing math is in Premium A+ full background image.

What should I check before uploading?

Check the video width and height, check the preview is at least 1464 by 600, and keep the 80-character headline limit in mind. Amazon applies its own review afterwards, so a file that meets the minimums can still be rejected.
