Android Automotive Play screenshots: 800x1280 and 1024x768
Play wants 2 portrait (800x1280) and 2 landscape (1024x768) Automotive screenshots of generic system UI. Both fit the ChatGPT Image 2.5 custom-size limits.

If you submit Android Automotive OS screenshots, Play requires at least 2 portraits (800 x 1,280) and 2 landscape (1,024 x 768). Both sizes are valid custom sizes under the ChatGPT Image 2.5 limits in Sume's docs, so size is the easy part; the harder rule is that every screenshot must show the generic system UI.
Sume's Image models page sets the pixel limits; the requirements below are Play's.
Do 800x1280 and 1024x768 fit the Sume custom-size limits?
The docs say, for the ChatGPT Image 2.5 models, custom pixels need both edges to be multiples of 16, a maximum edge of 3840, an aspect ratio of at most 3:1, and 655,360 to 8,294,400 pixels. Both Automotive sizes pass, as the table above shows.
| Size | Orientation | Pixels | Multiple of 16 | Within 655,360 to 8,294,400 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 800x1280 | Portrait | 1,024,000 | Yes (50 x 80) | Yes |
| 1024x768 | Landscape | 786,432 | Yes (64 x 48) | Yes |
What does Play say the screenshot must show?
Screenshots must depict the generic system UI and cannot include a specific vehicle model or OEM. Play says to take them on a generic system image, using the Android Automotive OS emulator's Automotive (1024p landscape) and Automotive Portrait hardware profiles, and they must accurately depict your app on Android Automotive OS.
Should I generate these with an image model?
Treat generated images as a way to make backgrounds or marketing frames, not as the screenshot itself. Play requires the images to accurately depict your app, so the app capture from the emulator should be the source. An image model has no way to know your real UI, and an invented one is the kind of mismatch the rule is written against.
What should I do?
Capture from the emulator profiles Play names. If you need to compose or letterbox a capture into a fixed frame, remember Timeline output width and height are even integers from 256 to 2160, so 800x1280 and 1024x768 are both valid Timeline sizes. Check dimensions of the final files before upload.
