Wan 3.0 defaults to 1080p: pin 720p on Sume to halve the cost

Alibaba's Wan3.0 default is 1080P, and Sume prices an omitted resolution as 1080p. Send resolution 720p and the per-second bill falls from $0.25 to $0.125.

Alibaba's Wan3.0 guide lists 480P, 720P and 1080P and says 1080P is the default (read 2026-10-04). Sume follows that when you leave resolution out: pricing treats a missing resolution as 1080p, so the request reserves the top rate.

The Sume rates are provider list times 1.25: $0.0625 per second at 480p, $0.125 at 720p and $0.25 at 1080p, per the registry and the video generation docs. A request that forgets the field costs twice what the 720p one does.

The same clip at each resolution

10 s$0.625$1.25$2.50
30 s$1.875$3.75$7.50

Say the resolution

import os
import requests

body = {
    "model": "wan-3.0",
    "prompt": "A barista pours latte art, overhead, soft window light",
    "duration": 10,
    "resolution": "720p",
    "aspect_ratio": "9:16",
}
r = requests.post(
    "https://api.sume.com/v1/videos",
    headers={
        "Authorization": f"Bearer {os.environ['SUME_API_KEY']}",
        "Idempotency-Key": "wan-720-001",
    },
    json=body,
)
print(r.status_code)

720p is 720 pixels wide in portrait, which meets Instagram's 720 pixel minimum width. Use 480p only for throwaway drafts, and 1080p for the final.
