Image upscale on Sume is $0.20 per image, reserved on roughly 16 megapixels of output. Generating a fresh image instead costs $0.10 on nano-banana-2.1 or $0.005 on higgsfield-soul. They do different jobs: upscale keeps your existing picture, generation makes a new one.

Per-image prices

Upscale and generation figures come from the published SKU and the pricing estimators.

The upscale request

upscale_factor is 1 to 4, output_format is png, jpg or webp. Sending model is refused.

Deciding

If the picture is the real product and must stay the real product, upscale it. If you only need an on-brand visual, generation can be cheaper per image. Check GET /v1/catalog for live prices before you budget a batch.
