How does TikTok's Video Scheduler work?

TikTok's announcement says you can schedule a video up to 10 days ahead, with a minimum of 15 minutes ahead. It is for Business Accounts only and works from the web upload page, not the mobile app. Scheduled posts appear in your Profile alongside drafts, and you get a push notification when one posts. I read the page on 2026-10-03.

What does the no-edit rule mean for production?

The page says you cannot edit the video, captions or scheduled time after scheduling; you delete and re-upload. So the file must be final before it goes in. That makes the pre-flight check the real work: audio level, captions, first second, length.

How do I prepare a week of clips with Sume?

Cut each clip from your source with video trim ($0.02 per job; precision: "exact" for frame-accurate edges). Add captions with POST /v1/video-captions ($0.20 per job), which can take a style such as tiktok-green. Send an Idempotency-Key header on each write, and import sources to media.sume.com first.

Download all the results, watch each one fully on a phone, and only then schedule. If one fails the check, redo it before it goes in the queue, because a scheduled post cannot be fixed.

  • Make all clips for the week in one sitting.
  • Name files by planned date.
  • Check captions on a phone before scheduling.

What should I leave to a person?

The caption text that accompanies the post, the cover choice and the time. Sume prepares the video; the decision about when to publish belongs to the person who knows the audience.
