TikTok Shop UK bans high-volume repetitive AI content: vary variants

TikTok Shop's UK AI page lists high-volume repetitive, low-effort content as prohibited. Make each variant differ in hook, shot and script, not in a filter.

The UK TikTok Shop AI page says not to post "high-volume repetitive, low-effort content". TikTok gives no number, so the safe reading is that every video you post should differ in a way a viewer can see: a different hook, a different shot list, a different script, not just a recolor or a new caption on the same footage.

The same direction shows up in TikTok's July 2026 newsroom post, which says TikTok is testing better detection of accounts dedicated to AI-generated spam on politics and current events, financial advice, and medical content. Product videos are not on that list, but it shows detection is aimed at accounts, not single clips.

What the TikTok pages state, and what they leave out

The UK page lists the rule and enforcement: posting restrictions, traffic limits, account suspension, removal of e-commerce permissions, or commission withholding. It gives no per-day limit and no definition of "repetitive". Any threshold you read elsewhere is a guess, so do not treat one as a rule.

Make variants that are actually different

A variant earns its place when a viewer who saw the first one learns something new from the second. In practice that means a new first three seconds, a different benefit, a different setting, or a different speaker.

Sume's tools make this cheap to do honestly. Video trim ($0.02 per job) cuts different hook moments from one longer master. Video generation makes a new setting or angle as its own job. Timeline 1.0 ($0.10 per output minute) reorders the same footage into a different story order.

  • Change the claim you lead with, not only the words around it.
  • Change the scene or angle for at least one shot.
  • Change the speaker or the voice when the script changes.
  • Skip the product pages you cannot say anything new about.

Keep a short ledger

Write one line per posted video: the hook, what differs from the previous one, the job ids, and whether the AI-generated toggle was on. When a post is limited, the ledger tells you what to change in the next batch. Spend the savings on fewer, better videos: each variant that you skip is a render you do not pay for, and each one you keep has a reason to exist.

A weekly plan that stays varied

Plan the week as a set of different stories, not a stack of the same clip. Pick three claims, give each its own hook and setting, and cut two versions of each. Six posts that differ beat thirty that do not, and the render bill is lower.

Review before you post: put the thumbnails side by side. If two look like the same video, drop one.
