TikTok in-feed safe zone files: standard, anchor and Arabic RTL

Download the standard file for every region except Arabic, and add 'with Anchor' if your ad uses an anchor. TikTok's Auction In-Feed Ads page (last updated June 2026) offers four safe-zone downloads: In-Feed Standard, In-Feed with Anchor Standard, In-Feed Arabic and In-Feed Arabic with Anchor. The Arabic pair is a right-to-left layout; the standard pair is left-to-right.

The page says the safe zone size is determined by the video's dimension (vertical, horizontal or square), the ad caption length, and any additional formats used. It also warns that the preview may differ slightly from the live ad because the preview is not specific to a device.

The four files

Pick by region and by whether an anchor is in the ad. Sizes are as listed on the page.

Place text in a Sume clip

Put the safe-zone file over a frame of your clip in your design tool, then place burned-in text inside it. With Sume video captions, the design.placement.anchor_ratio field sets the center of the caption line as a fraction of the frame height, and design.typography.safe_width_ratio limits the line width. Together they let you keep burned-in lines inside the zone without editing the video.

For a vertical ad, a 9:16 clip at 1080x1920 is the output a timeline gives by default; the TikTok page lists 540x960 as the minimum for vertical non-Spark ads and recommends 9:16. Use a frame from video inspect as the backdrop in your overlay test.

Steps

• Choose the file: region first, then anchor or not.
• Overlay it on a still from the finished clip.
• Move burned-in text so no line touches the overlay's restricted areas.
• Re-run the caption job with the new placement if you move text, since a restyle is still a render.
• Upload and check the in-app preview, remembering it may differ from the live ad.

Why two regional layouts exist

Arabic reads right to left, so interface elements such as the profile block and the action buttons mirror to the other side of the frame. A safe zone built for left-to-right layouts would put your burned-in text under the wrong controls. TikTok's page therefore keeps the layouts apart and tells every region except Arabic to take the standard file.

If you serve both an Arabic and a non-Arabic audience from one master, you have two safe zones to satisfy. The simplest approach is to keep text in the central band that both layouts leave clear, and verify with both overlays on the same still.

Caveat

A longer ad caption shrinks the safe zone, so test with the real caption, not a placeholder. Arabic text rendering in burned-in captions is a separate question from the safe-zone file; check a sample render before you commit a whole batch.
