TikTok non-Spark ad name: 20 characters, 10 for CJK, and the defaults
TikTok's in-feed ad page limits the account name to one line: 10 characters for Chinese, Japanese, Korean, 20 for others. Where app and landing-page ads get it.

Keep the account name short: one line, a maximum of 10 characters for Chinese, Japanese and Korean, and 20 characters in other languages. That is the rule on TikTok's Auction In-Feed Ads page (last updated June 2026) for the Account Name (Nickname) shown on non-Spark ads.
The page also says where the name comes from. For app ads, it is extracted automatically from the App Store or Google Play. For landing-page ads, the account name is used automatically as the landing page heading in the in-app browser.
What the page sets by ad type
Spark and non-Spark ads handle identity differently, so check which you run before you design the end card.
| Field | Rule on the page |
|---|---|
| Account name length | One line; 10 characters (CJK) or 20 (other languages) |
| App ads | Name extracted from the App Store or Google Play |
| Landing page ads | Account name becomes the in-app browser heading |
| Profile photo, non-Spark | Optional; default picture if blank; 98x98 px, under 50 KB |
| Profile, Spark | The video account's profile is used |
Design the clip around the name
Since the name is fixed text outside your video, do not repeat it in the picture. Use the clip's burned-in text for the offer. With Sume video captions, phrasing controls (design.phrasing.max_words, max_chars) keep each caption card short, which helps because TikTok ad captions are shown in a uniform white font and cannot carry links, @ symbols or hashtags.
If you localize into Korean, a 10-character limit is tight: count characters in Hangul, not bytes. For Korean speech the docs recommend Hangul caption styles such as black-outline or korean-ad, and they refuse Korean text on Latin styles with a 400, so you never pay for a render with missing glyphs.
Steps
- Pick the display name for each market and count its characters against 20 or 10.
- Check whether the ad is app, landing page or Spark, because the source of the name changes.
- Keep the video free of a duplicate name or logo lockup near the profile area.
- Use captions for the offer and keep each card short.
- Preview in Ads Manager before submitting.
Why the name limit matters for creative
The account name is the brand's handle in the ad. If it truncates, the viewer sees an incomplete name next to your offer, and a half-name looks careless. Decide the name once per market and keep it stable across ads, so people learn it.
For multi-market runs, build a small table: market, display name, character count, and whether the ad is app, landing page or Spark. When the count is near the limit, shorten the name rather than rely on the preview.
Caveat
The page says the name shows only one line. It does not say what is truncated, so treat the limits as hard and test a long name in the preview.
