TikTok's Q3 2026 ad products: which need new video, which do not
Of nine items in TikTok's Q3 2026 preview, TopView self-serve and TopReach touch creative. A table sorts them and maps the clip work to Sume.

Of the nine items in TikTok's Q3 2026 preview, only a few change what video you hand over: TopView self-serve, TopReach Max Reach and Symphony Agent. The rest are buying, targeting or bidding controls that reuse the clips you already have. Plan new production for the first group and leave the second group alone.
The list comes from TikTok's own product preview (read 2026-10-04), published 2026-07-28. It names TopReach Max Reach, GMV Max Pro, Symphony Agent, Agentic Hub (AI Skills plus the TikTok Ads MCP), TopView self-serve, TopView Geo Exclusion, Pulse Custom Lineups, Auto-Selection for Lead Gen and Smart+ Search Ads.
Which items need new clips?
The last column is my reading of the item names, not a statement from TikTok. The preview does not publish creative specs, so confirm sizes and lengths in Ads Manager before you render anything.
| Item | Type | New video likely needed? |
|---|---|---|
| TopView self-serve | Premium first-view placement | Yes, a dedicated opening clip |
| TopReach Max Reach | Reach buying | Yes, if you sequence clips |
| Symphony Agent | AI creative assistant | Inputs only; it produces the creative |
| GMV Max Pro | Shop performance | Reuses product clips |
| Agentic Hub | AI Skills and MCP | No, an automation layer |
| TopView Geo Exclusion | Targeting (up to 40% of sub-regions) | No |
| Pulse Custom Lineups | Placement control | No |
| Auto-Selection for Lead Gen | Optimization | No |
| Smart+ Search Ads | Search | No |
How do I prepare a TopView-style opener?
Treat the first seconds as a standalone clip. Sume's timeline model takes an audio spine of 1 to 1800 seconds and 1 to 200 video slots, outputs a 1080x1920 MP4 by default, and costs $0.10 per output minute, rounded up. Cut a hook, a proof beat and a call to action as separate slots, then use a fade or a slide transition of up to one second between them.
Because billing rounds up per started minute, a 61-second render costs as two minutes. Keep openers short and read the stored post on TopReach two-clip sequencing for the sequencing logic.
Do captions matter for these placements?
Many viewers watch with the sound off, so burn captions into the master. POST /v1/video-captions costs $0.20 per job for videos up to 60 seconds and takes a public HTTPS video_url. Latin styles include slam (the default), punch and tiktok-green. Placement is adjustable through the design group, including an anchor ratio, so you can lift text above the app's own interface.
For a refresh cycle once the first creative tires, see swapping the hook and music.
What about the MCP piece?
Agentic Hub is the one item here that changes how you work rather than what you ship. The post on choosing between TikTok's two MCP URLs covers it.
