TikTok Ads MCP: 400-tool or 40-tool URL beside Sume's hosted MCP?

TikTok's Agentic Hub has a Full Disclosure URL (about 400 tools) and a Progressive one (about 40). Which to pick with Sume's hosted MCP server also connected.

Pick TikTok's Progressive Disclosure URL if you also keep Sume's hosted MCP server connected, because it starts with about 40 core tools instead of about 400 and leaves your assistant more room to choose the right one. TikTok recommends the Full Disclosure URL for Claude, so choose it only if you want every ad-management tool visible from the first turn.

TikTok's help article (read 2026-10-04) describes the TikTok for Business MCP Server as part of Agentic Hub, and says no developer credential is needed. The Agentic Hub was listed in TikTok's Q3 2026 product preview (read 2026-10-04) as AI Skills plus the TikTok Ads MCP.

What is the difference between the two TikTok URLs?

Both are remote endpoints. They differ in how many tools the client sees up front.

What does Sume's hosted MCP server add?

TikTok's server manages ad accounts; it does not render video. Sume's hosted MCP server at mcp.sume.com is where you generate and edit clips. Its quickstart says OAuth is preferred for interactive clients, and the default hosted OAuth grant is read-only (mcp:read). Turn on Write at consent to allow write and paid tools under mcp:write; there is no separate paid scope.

After connecting, call tools_list or mcp_health to confirm the session. The tools and gates page explains which tools are write or paid.

Why does the tool count matter when two servers are connected?

Every connected server contributes tool names and descriptions to the model's context. A 400-tool catalog plus a second server's catalog is a lot to choose from, and wrong picks are more likely when names overlap. Starting with 40 tools and letting the assistant ask for more keeps the first turns cleaner. I have not measured the effect on accuracy, so treat this as a sizing judgement, not a benchmark.

A workable split: ask the Sume side to produce and trim the clip, then ask the TikTok side to read account or campaign state. Keep Write off on both until you have watched a dry run.

Where do I read the full recipe?

The stored post on pairing TikTok's MCP with Sume's for creative covers the workflow, and the one on Pinterest's MCP beside Sume shows the same pattern for another ad network. Check TikTok's article before you copy a URL, since endpoints can change.
