TikTok for Business MCP with Claude: add Sume for video
TikTok for Business MCP lets an agent manage ads; Sume's hosted MCP makes the video file. Connect both in one Claude session and gate paid calls.

Yes, you can run two MCP servers in one agent: TikTok for Business MCP for the ad account, and Sume's hosted MCP at https://mcp.sume.com/mcp for the video file. TikTok's side handles campaigns and reporting; Sume's generate_video tool makes the creative. They are separate servers with separate auth.
TikTok facts are from its Agentic Hub post, read 2026-09-30. Sume facts are from the MCP overview and MCP tools and gates.
What does TikTok for Business MCP do?
TikTok's post describes it as the layer that lets AI agents interact with TikTok Ads securely, covering campaign management, performance reporting and creative management. It says advertisers can connect their own AI agents directly to the MCP instead of using a pre-built Skill, and gives a contact address for more information. Follow TikTok's own page for access and setup; this post does not cover it.
What does Sume's MCP add?
Sume's hosted MCP exposes generation tools including generate_image and generate_video, plus job tools. The docs say to use the URL in Cursor, Claude Code, Codex and other remote MCP clients. OAuth with mcp:read sees read-only tools; paid and write tools need mcp:write or an API key.
| Task | Server | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Read ad performance | TikTok for Business MCP | TikTok blog |
| Manage a campaign | TikTok for Business MCP | TikTok blog |
| Make a video file | Sume hosted MCP (generate_video) | Sume hosted MCP docs |
| Check a job | Sume hosted MCP (job tools) | Sume hosted MCP docs |
How do I stop a paid call from running by surprise?
Paid and write calls need an idempotency_key, which is for dedup, not approval. For spend control the docs say to prefer generation_admission_preview and dry_run=true before expensive bursts, and max_spend_usd is enforced when you provide it. Ask the agent to preview first, then run once.
What is a sensible workflow?
Read the account's results through TikTok's server, decide what creative is missing, preview and generate it through Sume, then hand the finished file to your normal upload step. Long renders are jobs: see waiting for long video jobs over MCP. Keep the review of anything that goes live with a person.
