TikTok Ad Network asset specs: banner 640x100 and where Sume stops
TikTok Ad Network wants video at 1280x720, 720x1280 or 720x720 and banners at 600x500, 640x200 or 640x100. What Sume renders natively and what needs a crop.

TikTok Ad Network (formerly Pangle) takes video up to 10 minutes at 1280x720, 720x1280 or 720x720, images at 1200x628, 640x640 or 720x1280, and a banner-only image set at 600x500, 640x200 or 640x100. Sume's video and image ratios cover the video and most image sizes; the 640x100 banner is outside what Sume's custom-pixel rule allows.
Sizes are from TikTok's help page (last updated September 2026, read 2026-10-01); Sume limits are from the image docs.
What sizes does TikTok Ad Network list?
The page recommends adding assets of all resolutions so the ad system can use the full set of formats. The carousel row says up to 50 images here, while TikTok's separate carousel specs page lists 2 to 35 for a standard carousel, so check which page matches your placement.
| Asset | Sizes (pixels) | Files | Max size |
|---|---|---|---|
| Video (up to 10 min) | 1280x720, 720x1280, 720x720 | .mp4, .mov, .mpeg, .avi | 500MB |
| Image | 1200x628, 640x640, 720x1280 | .jpg, .jpeg, .png | 100MB |
| Image (Ad Network exclusive) | 600x500, 640x200, 640x100 | .jpg, .jpeg, .png | 100MB |
| Carousel (up to 50 images) | 1200x628, 640x640, 720x1280 | .jpg, .jpeg, .png | 100MB |
Which of these ratios does Sume render natively?
For video, the aspect_ratio field accepts 16:9, 9:16 and 1:1, which match 1280x720, 720x1280 and 720x720. For images, the catalog lists 1:1, 16:9 and 9:16 as normalized ratios, so 640x640 and 720x1280 fit; 1200x628 is about 1.91:1, so generate at 16:9 or 3:2 and crop the last few pixels. The ratio list is per model, so read supported_parameters before pinning one (see the images catalog).
Output formats of png and jpeg match the .png and .jpg files the page asks for. Do not ship webp here.
Why is the 640x100 banner a problem?
640x100 is 6.4:1 and 640x200 is 3.2:1. The image docs give the custom-pixel rule for GPT models as "aspect ≤3:1", so neither exact size can be requested as custom pixels there. The catalog does list wider native ratios such as 4:1 and 8:1 on models that support them, but 6.4:1 is not one of the listed values, and 600x500 (6:5) is not either.
The practical route is to generate a wide native ratio your model accepts, then do the final crop and resize to the banner size in your own tooling. Keep the subject and any text in the middle band, since a crop to 100 pixels of height removes most of the frame.
How do I choose the video thumbnail?
If you do not select a thumbnail on upload, TikTok Ad Network uses the first frame of the video. Make sure your first frame is a deliberate image, or pick another frame in the upload step. For a vertical in-feed spec instead, see TikTok in-feed ad specs.

- TikTok carousel ad music: mp3 required, silent on Ad Network
TikTok carousel ads need an .mp3 of 2 s or more, up to 10M. Library music is silent on Ad Network placements, so upload your own file there.
- TikTok Global App Bundle image ad sizes: 9:16, 16:9, 1:1
TikTok's Global App Bundle image ads need 9:16 at 720x1280 or more, 16:9 at 1280x720 or more, or 1:1 at 640x640 or more, as JPG or PNG within 100 MB.
- Use audio from a TikTok or Instagram link in your video
Sume imports a public TikTok or Instagram URL, detaches its audio as wav or mp3, then lays it under a Timeline render. YouTube links are rejected.
