Synthesia's October 1, 2026 plan article prices dubbing with lip-sync at 80 credits per minute. Converting credits to dollars with the plan prices on Synthesia's pricing page gives about $0.85 per dubbed minute on Pro billed annually and about $1.86 on Starter billed monthly. Those are derived figures: Synthesia does not publish a dollar price per credit, and credits are shared with video creation and survey responses.

Sume does not list a Synthesia-style dub-with-lip-sync product in the pages I used for this post, so there is no Sume number in the table. The existing dubbing post covers what Sume's dubbing steps cost.

The derivation

Price per credit is the plan price divided by monthly credits, using the article's 1,250 credits for Starter and 6,000 for Pro and the pricing page's $29 and $18 (Starter) and $89 and $64 (Pro). One dubbed minute is that price times 80.

Plan and billingPrice per creditOne dubbed minute (80 credits)Ten dubbed minutes
Starter, monthly$0.0232$1.86$18.56
Starter, annual$0.0144$1.15$11.52
Pro, monthly$0.0148$1.19$11.87
Pro, annual$0.0107$0.85$8.53

What the figure assumes

It assumes you spend the whole plan on dubbing; mixed use makes the unused portion cost the same. The article's other costs sit in the same pool: about 100 credits per video minute and 350 per survey response. A Starter plan has 1,250 credits, so 15 dubbed minutes would use 1,200 of them and leave almost nothing for video.

The article does not state the languages or the maximum length of a dub, so check the in-app limits before planning a library of translated videos.

Using the number

If you dub more than a few minutes a month, Pro annual gives the lowest derived rate. If you dub one video a quarter, the cheapest route is whichever plan you already hold. For a view of how lip-sync and dubbing differ as steps, see the lip-sync versus dubbing post.
