Synthesia Creator is now Pro, same price. HeyGen has both names
Synthesia renamed Creator to Pro on October 1, 2026 with unchanged price and features. HeyGen still sells separate Creator and Pro plans. A name-by-name guide.

Synthesia's October 1, 2026 plan article says its Creator plan is now called Pro, with identical pricing and features. HeyGen runs its own, separate plans with the same names: Creator at $29 a month and Pro at $49. A Synthesia Pro is not a HeyGen Pro. Synthesia Pro is listed at $89 monthly or $64 on annual billing with 6,000 credits; HeyGen Pro is $49 with 1,000 credits.
If you read an older comparison page, check which name it uses and when it was written.
Names and prices side by side
Synthesia prices are from its pricing page and the plan article. HeyGen prices are from its pricing page, which gives no annual price for Pro.
| Plan name | Vendor | Monthly price | Credits a month |
|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | Synthesia | $29 ($18 annual) | 1,250 |
| Pro (formerly Creator) | Synthesia | $89 ($64 annual) | 6,000 |
| Pro 2x to 8x | Synthesia | Not stated on pages read | 12,000 to 48,000 |
| Creator | HeyGen | $29 ($24 annual) | 600 |
| Pro | HeyGen | $49 | 1,000 |
| Business | HeyGen | $149 plus $20 per seat | 1,500 |
Why it matters in a procurement note
An approval request that says 'the Pro plan' without the vendor is ambiguous across these two. Write vendor, plan and billing period. Synthesia's article also lists the new multiplier plans and a monthly allowance on every plan of 500 credits, 10 video minutes and 3 survey responses, so older notes may undercount what a plan includes.
Sume has no plan names
Sume's avatar pricing is by quality tier: Standard, Plus (the default if you omit the field) and Max, at $0.184, $0.245 and $0.55 a second without a product image. A procurement note can quote the tier and the per-second rate; there is no plan to rename. See the Starter and Pro comparison for the per-minute translation.
