Synthesia survey response: 350 credits is $3.73 to $8.12
A Synthesia Survey Session response costs 350 credits. Converted with the plan page's own prices that is $3.73 to $8.12, versus a Sume question clip at $2.76.

One Synthesia Survey Session response costs 350 credits, according to Synthesia's October 1, 2026 plan-change article. Using the prices on Synthesia's pricing page, that is about $3.73 on the Pro annual plan and $8.12 on Starter with monthly billing. Every plan also includes 3 survey responses a month, so the first three are covered before credits are spent.
A Sume question clip is a different thing: one avatar asking one question from a script, with no reply captured. A 15-second question on Standard is $2.76. The comparison only makes sense if you know which of the two you actually need, so the sections below separate them.
Converting 350 credits to dollars
Synthesia does not publish a dollar price per credit. I derived one from the pricing page by dividing each plan price by its monthly credits, the same way for every row. The article lists Pro at 6,000 credits a month and Starter at 1,250. The pricing page lists Starter at $29 monthly or $18 billed yearly, and Pro at $89 monthly or $64 billed yearly.
| Plan and billing | Plan price per month | Monthly credits | Price per credit | One survey response (350) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Starter, monthly | $29 | 1,250 | $0.0232 | $8.12 |
| Starter, annual | $18 | 1,250 | $0.0144 | $5.04 |
| Pro, monthly | $89 | 6,000 | $0.0148 | $5.19 |
| Pro, annual | $64 | 6,000 | $0.0107 | $3.73 |
Why this is an upper-bound sketch
Credits also buy video minutes, so a dollar per credit assumes you spend the whole plan on surveys. Credits that sit unused still cost money, which means the effective price of a response depends on how many responses you actually collect. Treat the table as a ceiling for planning, not a quote.
The Sume side
On Sume you pay per second of finished video. At the catalog rate for Avatar 1.0 without a product image, a 15-second question is $2.76 on Standard ($0.184 a second), $3.68 on Plus and $8.25 on Max. A ten-question interview is ten clips: $27.60 on Standard. You render them once and show them to every respondent.
What you do not get is Synthesia's follow-up behavior. The Sessions launch post says the avatar follows up on responses to dig deeper than a form. A Sume clip is linear. Your own form or app collects the answer, and your own logic picks the next clip, as in the survey-clip pattern.
Rule of thumb
If you expect fewer than 3 responses a month, the included allowance covers it and the credit math is moot. If you expect hundreds, the per-response credit cost dominates and a rendered question set plus a plain form is cheaper but gathers less. Decide whether the follow-up is worth roughly $4 to $8 a respondent.
