Seedance 2.5 price by aspect ratio: 9:16 vs 16:9 vs 1:1 on Sume
Does a vertical 9:16 Seedance 2.5 clip cost more than 16:9? On Sume a 10-second clip costs the same; 1:1 at 480p is cheaper, 4:3 slightly dearer. Table inside.

A 9:16 Seedance 2.5 clip costs the same as a 16:9 clip at the same resolution and duration on Sume, because the pixel count is identical. Square 1:1 at 480p is about 4.4% cheaper and 4:3 at 720p is about 0.6% dearer. The differences are small because Seedance bills by video tokens, and only the frame size changes between ratios.
Why the ratio changes the price at all
fal's Seedance 2.5 page (read 2026-10-07) states the token formula as (height x width x duration x 24) / 1024, at $0.0214 per 1,000 tokens at 480p and 720p. Sume's estimator uses the same shape of formula with its own rate, then multiplies by 1.25. A ratio whose pixel dimensions are smaller than 16:9 yields fewer tokens, so a lower price.
Prices for a 10-second clip
The numbers below come from running the repo's Seedance estimator for each ratio and resolution. Sell price is before the 5.5% platform fee. 1080p uses a higher list rate ($0.0234 per 1,000 tokens), which is why it is more than the pixel ratio alone suggests.
| Resolution | Aspect ratio | Sell price | Versus 16:9 |
|---|---|---|---|
| 480p | 16:9 or 9:16 | $2.68677 | +0.00% |
| 480p | 1:1 | $2.568 | -4.42% |
| 480p | 4:3 or 3:4 | $2.640225 | -1.73% |
| 480p | 21:9 | $2.68677 | +0.00% |
| 720p | 16:9, 9:16 or 1:1 | $5.778 | +0.00% |
| 720p | 4:3 | $5.814434 | +0.63% |
| 720p | 21:9 | $5.806222 | +0.49% |
| 1080p | 16:9 | $14.2155 | +0.00% |
| 1080p | 4:3 | $14.305094 | +0.63% |
| 1080p | 21:9 | $14.28494 | +0.49% |
What to take from it
- Choosing vertical for Shorts, Reels or TikTok does not raise the price.
- At 720p the ratio effect is under 1%, so choose the ratio for the platform.
- Duration and resolution are the levers; the 480p to 720p step is more than double the price, as the by-hand post shows.
- Seedance 2.5 accepts 4 to 30 seconds per clip.
Add the fee
The platform fee is 5.5% of the model amount. For the 16:9 720p row, $5.778 plus a fee of $0.31779 gives a hold of $6.09579.
