Seedance 2.5 cost per kept clip: 1 to 4 takes per keeper

What a kept 10-second Seedance 2.5 clip really costs on Sume when you reroll: $5.78 at one take per keeper, $17.34 at three, plus a 480p scouting variant.

If you keep one Seedance 2.5 take in three, a 10-second 720p clip effectively costs $17.34 on Sume, not $5.78. The sticker price is for one job; the price of a clip you ship is the sticker price times the number of takes you ran to get it.

Every job is billed on submit and settles on completion. Sume's video docs (read 2026-10-07) list seed as unsupported for every video model, so a rerun is a new take, not a repeat. Plan for that rather than for determinism.

Cost of one kept 10-second clip

Each cell is takes x the price of one 10-second 9:16 job. Prices are list x 1.25, rounded up to the cent per job.

When a 480p scout saves money

Because there is no seed, a 480p take is not a preview of the 720p take with the same prompt; it is a different draw. Scouting at 480p still tests the prompt, the reference images and the framing at about 47% of the 720p price. Three 480p scouts plus one 720p final is $13.85; four straight 720p takes is $23.12.

The scouting route only wins if the prompt is the thing that is failing. If the failures are random (hands, a text overlay, a prop that morphs), more takes at the final resolution are the honest cost, and you should put that on the budget line.

Use your own ratio

Keep a log of takes per delivered clip for the first ten you ship, then use your own ratio. The poll response carries usage.cost for each completed job, so the log is one number per take. Failed jobs are refunded, as covered in the posts on reserve and capture, so only completed takes enter the ratio.
