Does aspect ratio change AI video price? Seedance 2.5 vs Wan 3.0

On Sume, Seedance 2.5 bills by frame pixels, so 1:1 at 480p is 4.4% cheaper than 16:9 and 4:3 at 1080p is 0.6% dearer. Wan 3.0 charges the same for any ratio.

Yes for Seedance 2.5, a little; no for Wan 3.0. Sume prices Seedance by video tokens, and the token count follows the frame size the model renders. Different aspect ratios have slightly different pixel counts, so a 10-second clip is not exactly the same price at 16:9 and at 1:1. Wan 3.0 is billed per output second at a rate set by resolution only.

The sizes and rates come from the Seedance dimension table behind the estimate and the API pricing rate card, read on 2026-10-03; the Video Router docs state the limits (Seedance 2.5: 4 to 30 seconds; Wan 3.0: 2 to 30 seconds).

How big is the difference for Seedance 2.5?

Small. Across the six ratios the estimate uses, 10 seconds at 480p ranges from $2.568 to $2.6868. The cheapest frame is 1:1 at 480p (640 x 640, 409,600 pixels); the dearest are 4:3 and 3:4 at 1080p and 21:9 at both 720p and 1080p, which carry a few more pixels than 16:9.

Seedance 2.5, 10 seconds, by aspect ratio. Percent change is against 16:9 at the same resolution. Read 2026-10-03.

What does that mean for a multi-format campaign?

Do not plan a three-format Black Friday set around price differences between ratios. The spread is under 5 percent at its widest, and 9:16 and 16:9 cost exactly the same as each other at every resolution, because both frames hold the same pixels. Choose the ratio the placement needs.

The bigger question is whether to render three times or reframe one clip. Rendering three ratios costs three clips; reframing with Timeline is a different job, covered in Cyber Monday in 9:16, 1:1 and 16:9 from one clip.

Where does Wan 3.0 sit?

Wan 3.0 is billed at $0.0625 per second at 480p, $0.125 at 720p and $0.25 at 1080p, whatever the ratio. A 10-second clip is $1.25 at 720p whether it is vertical, square or wide. Seedance 2.5 at the same length and resolution is about $5.78, so the model choice dwarfs the ratio effect.

10 seconds at 720p: Seedance 2.5 changes a little with aspect ratio, Wan 3.0 bills per second at one rate. Read 2026-10-03.

How do I check the price before I submit?

Send the request with the aspect ratio you intend. Sume reserves the estimated amount when it accepts the job and settles at capture, and the job's usage.cost shows the billable amount, as described in Video Generation. If you are budgeting a batch, price the exact ratio rather than assuming 16:9.
