Runway Gen-4.5 alternative: a 5-second clip is $0.60, six Sume ids
Runway lists gen4.5 at 12 credits a second ($0.12). Sume does not list it. Six Sume video ids priced for the same 5 seconds, from $0.375 to $2.889.

A 5-second Runway Gen-4.5 clip costs $0.60: the pricing page lists gen4.5 at 12 credits per second and credits are $0.01 each, so 5 x $0.12 = $0.60. Sume does not list Gen-4.5. The Sume ids closest in role cost between $0.375 and $2.889 for the same 5 seconds, so two are cheaper and four are dearer.
Six Sume ids at 5 seconds
All Sume prices below are from the public catalog (provider list times 1.25). Runway's row does not name a resolution, so the comparison is on price only, not on picture quality.
| Sume id | $ per second | 5 seconds | vs Runway gen4.5 |
|---|---|---|---|
| minimax-h3 at 768p | $0.075 | $0.375 | lower than $0.60 |
| minimax-h3-max at 768p | $0.10 | $0.50 | lower than $0.60 |
| wan-3.0 at 720p | $0.125 | $0.625 | higher than $0.60 |
| gemini-omni-flash-1.1 at 720p | $0.125 | $0.625 | higher than $0.60 |
| seedance-2 at 720p | $0.378 | $1.89 | higher than $0.60 |
| seedance-2.5 at 720p | $0.5778 | $2.889 | higher than $0.60 |
What to compare beyond price
Gen-4.5's output is not the same as any model above. Price tells you which ids are worth a test, not which is better. A sensible check is to run the same three prompts through Gen-4.5 and the two cheapest Sume ids and compare, since 5 x $0.075 = $0.375 is less than two thirds of the Runway figure.
Sume's ids also differ in limits. minimax-h3 takes 5 to 15 seconds, wan-3.0 takes 2 to 30 seconds, and gemini-omni-flash-1.1 takes 3 to 10 seconds, so your 5-second clip is valid on all six. Check the video docs before using other durations.
Ten-second variant
Double every figure for 10 seconds: Runway is $1.20, minimax-h3 is $0.75 and seedance-2.5 is $5.778. The ordering does not change because every price here is linear in duration. For the older rate table see Runway credit rates for a 10-second clip.
A simple test plan
Pick three prompts that represent your work: a product shot, a person moving, and a scene with text or a logo. Render each on Gen-4.5 ($0.60 per 5 seconds), on minimax-h3 ($0.375) and on wan-3.0 at 720p ($0.625). Total cost for the nine clips excluding retries: 3 x $0.60 + 3 x $0.375 + 3 x $0.625 = $4.80. That is a small price for a decision that governs your monthly spend.
Keep the clips; reviewers judge better with the outputs side by side.
What I could not confirm
Runway's page gives no resolution or maximum duration for gen4.5 in the table I read, so I compare price per second only and do not say whether a 5-second clip is valid there. All vendor figures were read on 2026-10-09 and are listed in the sources; Sume figures come from its public catalog and docs the same day.
