Runway hailuo3 for 15 seconds: $1.50 vs Sume minimax-h3 at $1.125
Runway lists hailuo3 (768P) at 10 credits a second. Sume's minimax-h3 at 768p is $0.075. A 15-second clip, the model's maximum on Sume, is $1.50 against $1.125.

A 15-second clip costs $1.50 on Runway's hailuo3 at 768P (15 x $0.10) and $1.125 on Sume's minimax-h3 at 768p (15 x $0.075), 25 percent less. Fifteen seconds is the longest duration minimax-h3 accepts on Sume. This is one of the few pairs where Sume is below Runway; most others are at or above it.
The rows
Runway's page lists hailuo3 at 10 credits per second and h3_max at 8, with credits at $0.01. Sume's catalog lists minimax-h3 at $0.0625 for 480p and $0.075 for 768p, and minimax-h3-max at $0.0625, $0.10 and $0.20. I am treating Hailuo 3 and MiniMax H3 as the same family, which Runway's page does not state.
| Route | $ per second | 5 s | 10 s | 15 s |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Runway hailuo3 | $0.10 | $0.50 | $1.00 | $1.50 |
| Runway h3_max | $0.08 | $0.40 | $0.80 | $1.20 |
| Sume minimax-h3 | $0.075 | $0.375 | $0.75 | $1.125 |
| Sume minimax-h3-max | $0.10 | $0.50 | $1.00 | $1.50 |
The max-versus-base question
Runway lists H3 Max below its base model ($0.08 against $0.10), while Sume lists the Max variant above the base ($0.10 against $0.075). Sume's docs describe minimax-h3-max as the faster 768p variant with native stereo audio and 1080p as a latent refinement. They do not say which has better picture quality, and neither do I.
So the cheapest route for 768p H3 family footage on these pages is Sume's minimax-h3 at $0.075, then Runway's h3_max at $0.08, then Sume's h3-max and Runway's hailuo3 at $0.10.
Limits that matter
minimax-h3 on Sume takes 5 to 15 seconds only, at native 480p or 768p; 768p is first-class rather than 720p. If you need 20 seconds, none of the H3 rows here work and you need seedance-2.5 or wan-3.0, both up to 30 seconds. A related older comparison is Runway's H3 Max rates against Sume.
A volume check
For 200 clips of 15 seconds a month, Runway's hailuo3 costs $300.00, Runway's h3_max $240.00, and Sume's minimax-h3 $225.00 (200 x 15 x the per-second rate). Sume's H3 base row is the cheapest of the four, by $15.00 over Runway's H3 Max. As with every pair in this series, run the same prompts through each before you move volume.
Both platforms can be tested for under $5 with a handful of 5-second clips.
What I could not confirm
Runway's page does not say that hailuo3 and h3_max are versions of the same MiniMax family as Sume's minimax-h3 rows. The pairing is an assumption stated above, and the prices are quoted as listed. All vendor figures were read on 2026-10-09 and are listed in the sources; Sume figures come from its public catalog and docs the same day.
