Runway API credit rates for a 10-second clip, next to Sume's rows
At $0.01 per credit, Runway's API lists gen4.5 at $1.20 for 10 seconds and Veo 3.1 at $4.00. Sume rows: Wan 720p $1.25, H3 Max 768p $1.00. Not like for like.

Runway's developer pricing page lists video models in credits per second, and credits are sold at $0.01 each. A 10-second clip at the listed rates costs $1.20 on gen4.5, $0.50 on gen4_turbo, $1.50 on veo3.1_fast and $4.00 on veo3.1 with audio. On Sume, 10 seconds of wan-3.0 at 720p is about $1.25 and minimax-h3-max at 768p is about $1.00. The models are different, so the dollars show cost, not value.
This post only does the arithmetic. Whether a clip is good enough is a call you make by running the same prompt on each.
Runway's per-second list
These are the rates Runway's pricing page showed on 2026-10-04. The page also says generations routed through a Model Router are billed at the rate of whichever model the router picks.
| Runway model id | Credits per second | Dollars per second | 10 seconds |
|---|---|---|---|
gen4_turbo | 5 | $0.05 | $0.50 |
gen4.5 | 12 | $0.12 | $1.20 |
veo3.1_fast (audio) | 15 | $0.15 | $1.50 |
veo3.1 (audio) | 40 | $0.40 | $4.00 |
seedance2 (1080p) | 40 | $0.40 | $4.00 |
Sume rows for the same 10 seconds
Sume bills the provider list times 1.25 and rounds the total up to the next cent. These are catalog rates, checked on the same day. Sume does not list Gen-4.5 or Veo 3.1; the rows below are budget comparisons for a text or image prompt, not equivalents.
| Sume id | Setting | Per second | 10 seconds |
|---|---|---|---|
minimax-h3 | 768p | $0.075 | $0.75 |
minimax-h3-max | 768p | $0.10 | $1.00 |
wan-3.0 | 720p | $0.125 | $1.25 |
gemini-omni-flash-1.1 | 1080p | $0.1875 | $1.88 |
Reading the two tables
Three things make a straight comparison unsafe.
- Runway's page shows 10 seconds only as arithmetic; check each model's allowed durations before ordering.
- Audio is part of some rates and a separate toggle on others, so compare sound-on to sound-on.
- Runway sells credits at $0.01 in the developer portal; subscription credits may cost differently.
Run your own comparison
If you want Sume's side with real output, price it first and then submit one clip per row. Use a different Idempotency-Key per row so each request is its own job.
RATES = {
"minimax-h3": 0.075,
"minimax-h3-max": 0.10,
"wan-3.0": 0.125,
}
for model, per_second in RATES.items():
print(model, round(per_second * 10, 2))Where the numbers come from
Runway's figures are on its API pricing page. Sume's are derived from the catalog described on the Video Router page; Generation admission explains the reserve.
