Runway changelog Sept 17 to Oct 2, 2026: what video buyers should do
Ten Runway changelog entries in two weeks, from Enhance Frame Rate to Seedance 2.5 Draft Mode. Which matter for choosing a video model or API, and which do not.

Runway's changelog lists ten entries between 2026-09-17 and 2026-10-02. Four bear on picking a video model: Kling O3 4K and three other Kling models on Runway MCP (09-18), Enhance Frame Rate (09-17), Brand Kits in Runway MCP (09-22, a reference-asset feature) and Seedance 2.5 Draft Mode in Agent (10-02). The rest are distribution: Cursor, Grok, DaVinci Resolve, OpenAI Dots, ElevenLabs V4 and Ideogram 4.5. Here is the list with a plain verdict for each.
A changelog is a product feed, not a buying guide. This is a way to read it quickly.

What to do with it
Match each entry to a decision you already have, and ignore the rest.
- Need 4K Kling: Runway MCP is the route the changelog names; Sume's
kling-3catalog row lists 720p and 1080p. - Need Kling Motion Control: Runway MCP offers it per the changelog, and Sume's MCP tools page lists a
kling-motion-control_createtool; compare prices and limits on each side before choosing. - Need cheap drafts: both sides have a 480p route for Seedance 2.5.
- Need frame-rate conversion: Runway's tool is for finished files, not for picking a generator.
What Sume offers on the same day
Sume's hosted MCP lists generation tools such as generate_video, kling-motion-control_create, video_upscale_create and timeline_create, per the MCP tools page. The Video Router catalog covers seedance-2.5, wan-3.0, kling-3, the two MiniMax rows and gemini-omni-flash-1.1. Sume does not list Gen-4.5 or Veo 3.1.
If a Runway entry names a model that is not in that catalog, treat it as out of scope for Sume rather than assuming a mapping.
A minimal discovery call
Ask Sume what it lists today instead of reading anyone's blog post, this one included.
