Using Runway's pricing page (read 2026-10-02), a credit costs about 2.4 cents on Standard billed monthly and about 0.8 cents on Max billed annually, a threefold gap. The bigger plan buys credits much cheaper, so the plan you pick changes the dollar cost of the same clip. Sume has no plan-dependent credit price; video is charged at the rate card.

Plan prices and credits

The page lists monthly credits of 625 (Standard), 2,250 (Pro) and 9,500 (Max). It shows a monthly price and a lower per-month price when billed annually. The last three columns are simple division of those prices by those credits, rounded.

What that does to a clip

Credits per clip are fixed by the model and length you choose in Runway, so the price of a given clip moves with your plan. As an illustration of the method only: a model that costs 10 credits for a clip costs about 24 cents on Standard monthly and about 8 cents on Max annual. The 10-credit figure is an example, not a Runway price.

Two cautions follow. First, the page also shows Free at 125 one-time credits, which are not part of the table. Second, Max lists that up to one month of unused credits rolls over; credits on the lower plans may not, so a cheaper per-credit rate is only a saving if you use them.

The Sume side

Sume prices video on the API pricing page, by model and parameters, from the balance in your workspace. The plan you hold sets features such as concurrency and which surfaces you can use, per the pricing FAQ, but there is no plan-based discount tier on generation rates to calculate against.

To compare the two, take one clip you make often, find the credit cost in Runway and the price in Sume's catalog, and convert Runway's credits to dollars with the right column above.

Checklist

Prices on vendor pages change; recheck before committing.

  • Use your actual billing interval; annual and monthly differ by about 20% on every plan listed.
  • Check whether you consistently use the credits; leftover credits raise your effective price per credit.
  • Compare finished-second cost, not credits.
