Runway API pricing: credits per second by video model

Runway API pricing is per second of video, paid in credits that cost $0.01 each: Gen-4.5 uses 12 credits a second ($0.12) and Gen-4 Turbo 5 credits a second ($0.05), so a 10-second Gen-4.5 clip is 120 credits, or $1.20. A few models add charges for input video or references, or bill a minimum per generation.

The Runway figures come from Runway's API Pricing & Costs page, read 2026-09-28; the dollar columns are its credit counts × its $0.01 credit price. The Sume rates at the end are computed from Sume's pricing code and the billing rule in its Video generation docs.

How much does each Runway video model cost per second?

Runway sells API credits in its developer portal, per project, and notes that sales tax may apply. Each generation spends the model's credits per second of output, so a clip costs its length times the rate, or the model's minimum if that is higher. The page also lists a few other video models, plus image, audio, upscale and real-time prices, which this table leaves out.

Which Runway models charge extra?

Minimums matter for short clips: aleph2 bills at least 2 seconds' worth of credits (56), and seedance2_5 at least 80 credits, which is 4 seconds of output at 480p. Some models also add charges on top of the per-second rate:

• seedance2_5 adds 10, 15 or 34 credits per second of input and reference video (at 480p, 720p and 1080p), with the combined video capped at 30 seconds; reference images and audio are free. Minimum 80 credits per generation.
• grok_imagine_1_5 adds 1 credit per image or audio reference, including an image-to-video start frame.
• gemini_omni_flash adds 1 credit for the first-frame image in image to video; video to video is 11 credits per second of input video, capped at 10 seconds, plus 1 credit per reference image.
• On Gen-4.5 and Aleph 2.0, ProRes and PNG-sequence output add 5 credits per second; 10-bit and HDR profiles add 20, or 40 above 4 megapixels.
• A request through Runway's Model Router is billed at the standard rate of whichever model the router picks.

What do the same model families cost through Sume?

Sume bills video in US dollars rather than per-model credits: the balance is USD-denominated, and each video model is billed at the provider's list price × 1.25, reserved from the balance when you submit, plus a 5.5% agent fee by default.
