Pinterest Video Pin ratios 1:2, 2:3, 3:4, 4:5, 1:1: output sizes

Pinterest recommends 9:16 for Video Pins and allows 1:2, 2:3, 3:4, 4:5 and 1:1. Sume Timeline renders any even size from 256 to 2160 px.

Pinterest's Pin specs page recommends 9:16 (1080x1920) for Video Pins and lists 1:2, 2:3, 3:4, 4:5 and 1:1 as alternatives. Sume Timeline 1.0 accepts even output width and height from 256 to 2160, so every one of those ratios has an exact 1080-wide size.

Sizes at 1080 wide

Only the ratios are from Pinterest. The pixel sizes are my arithmetic, and each is an even integer inside Timeline's range.

Render one

The default output is 1080x1920, so only non-default ratios need an output. This request renders a 3:4 version with fit: cover, which fills the frame by scaling up and cropping the overflow. A Timeline render is $0.10 per output minute, rounded up.

Pick the ratio on purpose

Taller ratios take more screen on a phone, but they also push text toward the Pinterest safe zone. Set fit: contain or blur if you must not lose the sides. The Pin must also be 4 seconds or longer, up to 5 minutes; confirm the render length with video inspect when the job completes.

For an off-centre subject, crop with video filter first, using fractional x, y, width and height, then place the result in the render.
