Pinterest video ad specs: standard and Max Width ratios

Pinterest's product specs page lists standard and Max Width video ads as MP4, MOV or M4V, H.264 or H.265, up to 2 GB, at least 4 seconds and up to 15 minutes (6 to 15 seconds recommended). Standard video should avoid ratios shorter than 1:2 or taller than 1.91:1 (width:height); Max Width videos "cannot exceed the height of a 1:1 aspect ratio". Read 2026-09-29.

What does the page list?

Standard ads recommend square (1:1) or vertical (2:3, 4:5 or 9:16). Idea ads run up to 5 minutes and Quiz ads 3 to 60 seconds, with 1080x1920 recommended for full-bleed content. Collections use a video hero (2:3 or 9:16 recommended); Showcase uses 2:3.

Which Sume ratios match?

9:16, 1:1 and 16:9 are all listed on the main models, so vertical standard ads and Max Width ads at 1:1 or wider are direct requests. 4:5 and 2:3 are not in any video model's list; crop with POST /v1/video-filter or size the Timeline output (for example 1080x1350 for 4:5) as even integers within 256 to 2160.

How long should the ad be?

Six to fifteen seconds is Pinterest's recommendation, which fits inside one generation: seedance-2.5 lists 4 to 30 seconds and kling-3 4 to 15.

What are the limits of this answer?
