Pinterest Collections video: standard 4 s to 15 min spec, 2:3 hero
Pinterest says Collections follow its standard video spec: 4 seconds to 15 minutes, 2 GB, with a 2:3 ratio. Here is what a Sume render has to match.

Pinterest's ad specs page says Collections ads follow its standard video specs, with the same 2:3 aspect ratio as Showcase and a recommended 1000 x 1500 size. The standard video numbers on that page are 4 seconds to 15 minutes, up to 2GB, MP4, MOV or M4V, H.264 or H.265. A Sume Timeline render of 1000x1500 fits all of them except the one nobody can verify from the docs: the encoder.
Standard spec, Collections spec
| Item | Standard video ad | Collections |
|---|---|---|
| Length | Minimum 4 seconds, maximum 15 minutes | Follows standard video specs |
| File size | Up to 2GB | Follows standard video specs |
| Aspect ratio | Shorter than 1:2, taller than 1.91:1 | 2:3 |
| Recommended size | Not stated for standard | 1000 x 1500 |
| Formats | .MP4, .MOV or .M4V | Follows standard video specs |
| Encoding | H.264 or H.265 | Follows standard video specs |
What a Sume render covers
Timeline returns an MP4, and 1000x1500 is allowed because both edges are even and between 256 and 2160. Length fits: 4 seconds up to 15 minutes is well inside the 30-minute Timeline limit, and a Seedance 2.5 model clip starts at 4 seconds, as the video generation docs show.
The docs do not name the video codec or a bitrate for Timeline output, so the H.264 or H.265 requirement is something to confirm on the file you download, for example with a probe step before you upload. Sume's Timeline docs cover size, frame rate, fades and fit, and not encoder choice.
Hero video and the other creatives
A Collections ad pairs one hero with secondary creatives, and the video is the hero. If you plan the secondary images, keep them at 2:3 as well so the unit looks consistent. Pinterest does not list a safe zone on this page, so check the placement in Pinterest's own preview before launch.
What Sume does not do
Sume does not build the Collections unit, order secondary creatives, or push anything to Pinterest. It makes the video file. The 2GB size cap is also not something Sume promises; if a 15-minute render is near it, check the size before uploading.
In practice most Collections heroes are short. Pinterest's page recommends 6 to 15 seconds for standard video, which is a single Seedance 2.5 clip or one short Timeline cut. Longer is allowed up to 15 minutes, which is inside Timeline's 30-minute limit, but confirm the file stays under 2GB before you upload it.
