Pinterest recommends 6-15 s video. At 720p on Sume, 100 SKUs cost $75.00 vs $187.50 on Wan 3.0, or $226.80 vs $567.00 on Seedance 2. Full grid inside.

Pinterest recommends video ads of 6 to 15 seconds, and the choice inside that window moves your bill by 2.5 times. For 100 SKUs at 720p on Sume, a 6-second clip costs $75.00 on Wan 3.0 and $226.80 on Seedance 2, while 15 seconds costs $187.50 and $567.00. The Pinterest figures are from its ad specs page and the Sume prices from the pricing code, both read 2026-10-05; Sume's billable price is the provider price times 1.25.
What Pinterest says
The page lists video as MP4, MOV or M4V, H.264 or H.265, up to 2 GB, with a 4-second minimum and a 15-minute maximum. It recommends 6 to 15 seconds and the ratios 1:1, 2:3, 4:5 and 9:16, and advises against ratios shorter than 1:2 or taller than 1.91:1. Idea ads recommend 1080x1920. Nothing on the page asks for more than 15 seconds, so 15 s is the practical ceiling for a per-SKU clip.
The price grid
Each cell is one clip at 9:16 and 720p, billed per the model's rate. The 100-SKU column is the clip price times 100, before captions or an end card.
| Model | 6 s clip | 15 s clip | 100 SKUs at 6 s | 100 SKUs at 15 s |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Wan 3.0 | $0.75 | $1.875 | $75.00 | $187.50 |
| Seedance 2-mini | $1.134 | $2.835 | $113.40 | $283.50 |
| Seedance 2-fast | $1.8144 | $4.536 | $181.44 | $453.60 |
| Seedance 2 | $2.268 | $5.67 | $226.80 | $567.00 |
Choosing a length
Because the recommended window starts at 6 seconds, pay for 6 unless the product needs a demonstration. The per-second rates make the trade clear: Seedance 2-mini at 720p is $0.189 a second, Seedance 2 is $0.378, and Wan 3.0 is $0.125. Doubling a clip from 6 s to 12 s doubles its price on every model.
All three models take an image as the first frame on POST /v1/videos, per the videos docs, and Pinterest's 4-second minimum is at or above each model's shortest clip, so a short loop is allowed. If Pinterest uses the same file as a Reels or TikTok ad, you also meet those formats, as covered in the one-master spec table.
- Test 6 s first on a sample of SKUs; extend only the ones whose motion needs the time.
- Decide per category: a flat-lay needs less time than a product that unfolds or pours.
- Budget captions at $0.20 a job on top of the grid if you burn text in.
For a blended plan that mixes models by SKU rank, see the A/B/C tiered budget.
