One 1080x1920 master for Meta, TikTok, Pinterest and Shopify limits
One vertical MP4 can pass four platforms: Instagram Feed 1080x1920, TikTok 540x960 minimum, Pinterest 2 GB and 6-15 s, Shopify 1 GB. Limits read 2026-10-05.

One 1080x1920 MP4 meets the published limits on Instagram Feed, TikTok In-Feed, Pinterest and Shopify, so a holiday catalog needs one vertical master per SKU, not four exports. The Sume Timeline 1.0 render defaults to exactly 1080x1920 (Timeline docs), so the master is what you get when you leave output alone. The limits below were read from each platform's own page on 2026-10-05; they change, so re-read them before a launch.
The four limits side by side
Every row is a published limit, not a recommendation to hit the cap. A 15-second ad sits far inside all of them.
| Limit | Instagram Feed (Meta) | TikTok In-Feed (non-Spark) | Shopify files | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Aspect and size | 9:16, 1080x1920 | 9:16 recommended, 540x960 or more | 1:1, 2:3, 4:5, 9:16; Idea ads 1080x1920 | 100 to 4096 px per edge |
| Formats | MP4, MOV, GIF | mp4, mov, mpeg, 3gp, avi | MP4, MOV, M4V; H.264 or H.265 | MOV, MP4, WEBM |
| Length | 1 s to 60 min | Up to 10 minutes | 4 s to 15 min; 6 to 15 s recommended | Up to 10 minutes |
| File size | 4 GB | 500 MB | 2 GB | 1 GB |
What this means for the master
Pinterest is the tightest on length guidance: it recommends 6 to 15 seconds (Pinterest ad specs), so a 15 s master covers it and every longer cap. TikTok has a bitrate floor of 516 kbps and a 500 MB ceiling (TikTok ad specifications); Timeline accepts no codec or crf keys, so check the delivered file with a probe rather than trying to tune it.
Shopify's file page lists a 1 GB and 10-minute video limit and a 0.25 s minimum (Shopify file uploads). Meta lists 1080x1920 and a 4 GB cap for Instagram Feed video (Meta Ads Guide). Cost of the render itself is $0.10 per output minute, rounded up, so a 15 s master costs $0.10.
What the master does not cover
A single file does not settle the other rules each platform sets.
- TikTok ad captions (the ad text) are white in a fixed font with no clickable links, @ or hashtags on non-Spark ads; Spark Ads show up to four caption lines.
- Instagram Feed lists a 125-character primary text and up to 30 hashtags, which belong in the ad, not the video.
- Pinterest advises against ratios shorter than 1:2 or taller than 1.91:1, which 9:16 respects.
- Safe zones for UI overlays are platform guidance; keep key text away from the edges.
For the Meta side in more depth see the two Meta pages on one 9:16 master, and for TikTok's minimum size see TikTok in-feed specs at 540x960.
