A 10 second Luma clip can cost anywhere from $0.12 to $9.42 on the Plus plan, depending on the model you pick. Luma's pricing page says video costs 4 to 314+ credits per second, and Plus is $30 a month for 10,000 credits, or $0.003 per credit. The spread between the cheapest and the dearest rate is 78.5 times.

Where the numbers come from

The plan prices are from the Luma pricing page: Plus is $30 for 10,000 credits, Pro is $90 for 40,000 and Ultra is $300 for 150,000. The page also lists hosted models such as Ray3.2, Seedance 2.0 and 2.5, Kling and Veo 3.1. It gives the credit range, not a per-model rate, so we do not know which model sits at 4 and which at 314. Check the rate for the exact model in the app before you render.

Dollar figures here are straight multiplication of the listed credits. They are not Luma invoices.

Why a flat clip budget breaks

If a team budgets by clip count, one wrong model choice can burn nearly a third of a monthly Plus pool on a single 10 second render. The same pool buys 250 clips at the low rate (10,000 divided by 40). That is a 78.5 times difference in how many tries you get.

  • Budget in seconds at a named model, not in clips.
  • Write the credit rate next to the model name in your prompt log.
  • Run drafts at the lowest rate and keep the high rate for the approved take.

How Sume prices the same decision

On Sume the cost is a dollar figure you can read before you submit. Each video model lists pricing_skus at GET /v1/videos/models, billing is provider list price times 1.25, the amount is reserved at submit, and usage.cost on the finished job is the billable amount. A request with too little balance returns 402 insufficient_credits instead of a surprise. See the video docs and jobs and results.
