Google Ads API v25.2 automated video crawl for Performance Max
Google Ads API v25.2 adds AutomatedVideoCrawlSetting with LANDING_PAGE, SOCIAL and YOUTUBE sources. What it sets, and how to supply your own video with Sume.

Google Ads API v25.2 (2026-09-23) lets you configure an automated video crawl for a Performance Max campaign: each crawl entry has a url, a source_platform of LANDING_PAGE, SOCIAL or YOUTUBE, and an enabled flag. Sume does not call the Ads API; it makes the video you would upload or point the crawl at.
Google facts are from its Ads API release notes; Sume facts from the Video Router and Video frames docs, read 2026-10-01.
What did v25.2 add?
The notes say AutomatedVideoCrawlSetting was added to Campaign.AssetAutomationSetting, along with AssetAutomationType.AUTOMATED_VIDEO_CRAWL. Its automated_video_crawl_infos field holds a list of AutomatedVideoCrawlInfo entries. Minor versions like v25.2 do not contain breaking changes.
| Field | Meaning per the notes |
|---|---|
url | The crawl URL |
source_platform | VideoCrawlSourcePlatform: LANDING_PAGE, SOCIAL or YOUTUBE |
enabled | Opt-in status |
What do the notes not say?
They do not describe what Google selects from a crawled page or how videos are chosen, so do not plan around specifics. If you want control over the video that represents the product, supply your own asset rather than relying on a crawl.
What can Sume make for Performance Max?
Sume generates video clips and stills. For example, gemini-omni-flash-1.1 is documented at 3 to 10 seconds at 360p, 720p, 1080p or 4K in 16:9 or 9:16, and video_frames pulls stills from a Sume-hosted clip at times you name. Read each model's capabilities from GET /v1/video-router/models instead of assuming one envelope. Specs for the campaign type itself are in Performance Max video specs.
Do I need Sume to turn the crawl on?
No. The setting is part of your own Ads API call with your Google credentials. Sume only supplies media files.
