Higgsfield's ChatGPT slash commands vs Sume's hosted MCP tools
Higgsfield's ChatGPT extension starts presets with slash commands. Sume's hosted MCP exposes tools; paid calls need an idempotency_key and wallet balance.

Higgsfield's ChatGPT extension starts named presets with slash commands such as /effects, /product, /motion, /marketing-studio and /genjutsu. Sume has no slash commands. It exposes tools over hosted MCP at https://mcp.sume.com/mcp, and a paid call needs an idempotency_key and a wallet that admits the spend.
Higgsfield's details are from its September 30 changelog; Sume's are from Hosted MCP, read 2026-10-01.
What does the Higgsfield extension add to ChatGPT?
Per the entry, it is built on OpenAI's new extensions feature. You can generate images, video, branded content and websites in chat, and the slash commands map to Viral Presets, product, motion, Marketing Studio and Genjutsu. It covers product ads, video ads, UGC videos and Ad Multiplier variations from one photo or video.
What do Sume's hosted MCP tools look like?
Tools are named with underscores, for example generate_video, timeline_compose, jobs_wait and jobs_result. A model decides which to call; you do not type a command. Auth decides what is visible, as the table shows.
| Auth | What the client sees |
|---|---|
OAuth with mcp:read | Read-only tools |
OAuth with mcp:read and mcp:write | Mutating and paid tools too; there is no mcp:paid scope |
| API key | Full hosted tool set; paid and write calls still need idempotency_key |
How does a long video job finish over MCP?
Video is asynchronous. The documented chain is a create tool, then jobs_wait, then jobs_result; for composed clips it is timeline_compose then jobs_wait then jobs_result. Over plain HTTP the job route is GET /v1/jobs/{id}/status. See waiting on long video jobs.
Which one fits my case?
If you want a one-word preset inside ChatGPT, Higgsfield's commands are built for that. If you want an agent to call media tools with budgets and retries you control, the hosted MCP route is the one Sume documents; the trade-offs are in ChatGPT plugins vs an MCP server.
