Galentine's Day is Saturday 13 February 2027, the day before Valentine's Day, which is Sunday 14 February. Wikipedia describes it as a holiday celebrating women's friendship that came from a 2010 Parks and Recreation episode. It suits a group booking: a brunch, a class, a salon slot. A 6-second 9:16 clip made from one photo of your venue, table or product can run from the week of 25 January.

This post gives a work-back plan, what the clip should say, vertical limits from the TikTok and Meta pages, and a Sume request for the clip.

When should the reminders go out?

Because the day is a Saturday, the Friday reminder reaches people while they plan the weekend. The dates below are working steps, not platform rules.

Work-back plan for Saturday 13 February 2027
DateStep
Mon 11 JanChoose the photo, set the group offer
Fri 22 JanGenerate and pick a take
Mon 25 JanPost the first clip with the booking line
Mon 8 FebPost the last-week reminder
Fri 12 FebPost the tomorrow reminder

What should the clip say?

Say the offer, not a romance story: "Book for 4 or more", the date and where to book. Galentine's Day sits one day before a second holiday, so the dates on screen must be clear that this event is Saturday 13 February.

Wikipedia notes the holiday is about friendship, so show a table, a group setting or a shared item, with no people required in the picture.

  • Burned text: "Sat 13 Feb", the offer, the booking route.
  • Photo: a set table or a product flat lay as the first frame.
  • Avoid generating faces of real customers or staff.

What do TikTok and Reels need from the file?

Both platforms take a 9:16 master. TikTok's help page lists 9:16 at 540x960 or larger for non-Spark in-feed ads, up to 10 minutes and 500 MB. Meta's Instagram Reels video spec lists 9:16 at 1440x2560, 0 seconds to 15 minutes, 4 GB, and asks you to keep 14% of the top, 35% of the bottom and 6% of each side free of text and logos.

How do I make the clip from one photo?

Use a photo as the first frame in Sume video generation. The request below asks for 9:16, 720p and 6 seconds on seedance-2, which lists first-frame input and 4 to 15 second durations. Replace the URL and prompt, then poll until the status is completed.

import os, time, requests

H = {"Authorization": f"Bearer {os.environ['SUME_API_KEY']}"}
body = {
    "model": "seedance-2",
    "prompt": "Soft light moves across a brunch table with glasses and flowers, gentle camera push-in",
    "frame_images": [{
        "type": "image_url",
        "image_url": {"url": "https://example.com/brunch-table.jpg"},
        "frame_type": "first_frame",
    }],
    "aspect_ratio": "9:16",
    "resolution": "720p",
    "duration": 6,
}
job = requests.post("https://api.sume.com/v1/videos", headers=H, json=body).json()
while True:
    time.sleep(30)
    s = requests.get(job["polling_url"], headers=H).json()
    if s["status"] in ("completed", "failed"):
        break
print(s["status"], s.get("unsigned_urls"))

How do I finish and check it?

Burn the date and booking line with video captions cues. Make three versions with different text: first clip, one-week reminder, tomorrow reminder.

Use video trim to cut the same clip shorter for the reminders, without regenerating.

Check the bottom 35% of the frame is free of text before you export for Reels.
